The infrastructure is good and not as bad as mentioned by most of the students.
Placements: The placement cell of Shyam Lal College is active and conducts regular workshops, seminars, and training sessions to prepare students for job interviews, group discussions, and resume writing. It also collaborates with the Central Placement Cell (CPC) of Delhi University, giving students access to university-wide placement drives.
Infrastructure: Its infrastructure has seen improvements in recent years, though it's still considered moderate compared to North Campus colleges. The urban campus is relatively small in size. Some classrooms have been recently renovated with smart boards in some classrooms. There are dedicated blocks for different departments, with an auditorium for seminars and cultural events. Lift facilities are available in the newer building blocks.
Faculty: The curriculum is designed to give a strong foundation in accounting, economics, finance, taxation, law, and business management. Students study core papers like Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Income Tax Law, Business Law, Economics, and Business Communication. Skill enhancement courses such as E-commerce and Data Analysis are also included.

We have good infrastructure, but placements are not so good. Overall, my experience is good.
Placements: If we talk about placement, we do have a placement cell, but mostly they bring not-so-good companies, all of which are mostly sales and small companies, so it's better to do something on your own rather than depending on college placement. If you are pursuing professional courses with graduation, you can take admission as you can focus on both.
Infrastructure: We have the best infrastructure. Canteen is good, but they have a high price. Food is edible, not so good, not so bad, you can fill your stomach enough, one thing is good, Wi-Fi is available in every building.
Faculty: No cheating in exams, good conduct, and papers are easy if you only study. I have completed my 1st to 4th semester here and I didn't encounter any teacher who could not solve my query, but they are charging too much for B.Com Honors as it's not worth it. We have good teachers if you want to learn.
Other: We should improve the college crowd, it's not so good.

Infrastructure is average, but the faculty and the value for money are great.
Placements: I haven't been in a placement workshop or event myself but I've heard from friends and seniors in our college's placement cell that it's been quite successful in the past few years. Our college is gaining a good reputation with companies and students are securing on campus placements with good packages.
Infrastructure: he infrastructure has improved since I joined but there are still areas that need work. For example classrooms in the old building are spacious but the benches and overall infrastructure are outdated and could be upgraded. The ground area is larger than most other DU colleges.
Faculty: Luckily, I've had the best faculty for all my core subjects throughout my semesters and I'm truly grateful. Having great faculty around helps immensely with academics and enriches your college life, allowing you to excel from your college days right into your professional career.

The college is decent.
Placements: Basically, this college is considered normal among other colleges. But the thing is the commerce faculty members of this college are the best. Talking about placements, we can understand it as if 100 students have applied then out of them only 30-40 will get better placement opportunities. The highest salary is 7 LPA - 8 LPA. The lowest salary is Rs 10,000 per month. Top recruiting companies are Zomato and Cognizant. Roles offered are business analyst, business consultant, and product manager.
Infrastructure: The campus has decent Wi-Fi though some of the classes have projectors. The college does provide library facility. College does not have a hostel. The canteen food is awful. The sports department of this college is the best. But there are no medical facilities.
Faculty: The best part about this college is that teachers are helpful. They have a good relationship with their students and take their subjects and classes seriously. Talking about the curriculum it is still not industry-oriented. Semester exams are not that hard, and minimum passing percentage is I guess 6 SGPA/CGPA.
Other: B.Com (Hons) is one of the best courses offered by this college. The things that can be improved are a more practical approach, industry visits, and practical problem-solving. Events at this college are decent.

Campus life is awesome and academics could be better.
Placements: Approximately 60-70% of students got placed. Didn't receive much company for internships. Course start from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1,00,000 and much more as per your course registration, another fee like hostel food and another benefit. Internship recently was not much high but we got many companies for jobs.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities were good. Wi-Fi availability was good but sometimes it didn't work that's why students had to face many problems. Quality was good sometimes. Food was very tasty but someday the food was just okay. Menu was changed by day and everyday food was new.
Faculty: They taught very well. Course curriculum was very well written. Semester exams in college could vary in difficulty depending on a few key factors. Some majors (like engineering, medicine, or law) tend to have tough exams due to the complexity and volume of material. Some professors were known for harder exams, while others were more lenient. It depends on their teaching and grading style. If you stay consistent throughout the semester, we could attend lectures, do assignments, and review regularly. Exams were much more manageable. Multiple choice might be easier for some exams.
Other: Diverse events were held like mixture of cultural, technical, sports, and fun-based activities. It provided strong promotions, used social media, posters, and word-of-mouth to build buzz. Inclusive participation was open invitations to all departments, years, and even other colleges. Sponsor and partnership management was collaborative with local brands and alumni for funding. Competitions were held (coding, debates, gaming, etc). Celebrity appearances or DJ nights were held. Food stalls, games, and exhibitions were also organised. Campus fests were great for crowd engagement because they brought together students from all departments (and sometimes other colleges). They boost networking and bonding both socially and professionally. Interactive events helped people connect beyond academics.

There is a need for a strong foundation.
Placements: As far as I know, around 40% of the students get placed in my course as most of them are waiting to pursue 4th year. The highest package is 5 LPA, and the average package is 3.5 LPA. The lowest package is 2 LPA. More companies are hiring for internship opportunities. Top recruiting companies include Accenture, Upriver, ICICI Bank, and ARM Worldwide. More than 50% of the students got internships from my course either in Rural Handmade, ARM Worldwide, AIMS, etc. Top roles offered in my course are marketing, content writing, human resource management, finance, and sales.
Infrastructure: For my college facilities and infrastructure, I would rate 6 out of 10. Most of the labs are not in good condition. It does not have a good Wi-Fi range but the library is a key destination for students. There is no hostel or mess in my college.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. For teaching quality, I would rate 9 out of 10. In the course curriculum, not all the subjects are relevant. The difficulty level is moderate and the pass percentage is 90%.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to gain good knowledge related to the business and the corporate life. The best thing about my course is having good and knowledgeable subjects. I wish to improve the college infrastructure in the coming years. Events are average. The campus crowd is not that good. Different extracurricular activities are held for students.

Review of Shyam Lal College.
Placements: The percentage of students who get placed in our college is 40% of total students. The highest package offered in our course is approximately 4-5 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 3-4 LPA. Almost 20% of students get internships from our course.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are good and open, and the library is also good. Wi-Fi facilities are available throughout the campus. There is no hostel facility in our college. The mess and canteen are good. Medical facilities are not provided in our college. The college has many sports, games, and societies.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, well-educated, qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very good to understand. Semester exams are not difficult. The pass percentage is approximately 70-80%.

The infrastructure is very poor, and the faculty is absent for most of the classes
Placements: There are 150-180 students who are admitted into my course in my college. The highest was 4 LPA and the average package was about 2-3 LPA. The no. Of the students who got internships 20-30 students. And, the companies were not much renowned and some students were given internships in companies that were totally unknown to some students.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel in our college. But the infrastructure outside the classrooms and buildings is decent. And the classrooms and corridors are in the worst condition compared to any standard college. The seats on which we keep our books are broken and toilets are unusable if we refuse to compromise our hygiene. Only the outside looks good except that nothing is good.
Faculty: The faculty of the college is the worst it's not like they have rude behavior but they are absent for a good amount of time from the classes. And the exams conducted are nothing special to be told or criticized. The curriculum is good and there is nothing interesting in it. It's just the old, outdated boring curriculum.
Other: Just to let you know, every college is worthy of its reputation, but the facilities aren't that commendable. Campus life and fests are decent. There is nothing in the fests that needs to be criticized or praised.

Hello Samiya, If you are from general category, then you will not get admission in Delhi University's college. Because the cutoff for this course is above 89%.

You can only get b.com honors in any good college under DU if you belong to SC/ST category. Best of luck

No, with this percentage, you are not eligible for the Shyam lal College. Your Percentage is very low. Minimum 75% marks is required. You can go for other colleges.
