It's not a good college, but it's okay to join for a proper greenery view.
Placements: The placement is not good because only a hundred people are placed out of 400, and the highest package is 12 Lacs, which is offered, and the least or average package is 2.5 Lacs. Only 4 to 5 IT companies come to the college, sales-based companies, and the minimum aggregate should be 80% to sit in the campus recruitment.
Infrastructure: The facilities at the college are okay because we don’t have any Wi-Fi. The labs are okay but have limited computers working. Classrooms are okay. The broken library is under construction, and it will be better because it will be a digital library, and to be frank, better than the college. The library is good now, and it will be opened in 2026, I guess. The canteen food is the worst. The non-veg food is made in only one Kadai. Medical facilities are also not available because there is no department or nearby hospital on campus. The college is only far from the main road.
Faculty: Teachers are not qualified to teach for their teaching right now. They only carry a piece of paper that they prepared a day before. If you ask any questions, they don’t answer that, and they are not so supportive according to your projects, relevant only, but it doesn’t make industry because they are not learning any new skills.
Other: I chose this course because I got this in KA exam, which is CET in Karnataka. College infrastructure can be better. The events and fests, the extracurriculars, are not up to the mark; they only had one fest till now. I’m in my last year. The campus crowd is not forward-thinking because they come from Karnataka.

Good infrastructure with average faculty and big college vibes.
Placements: The website shows that placement is 100 percent but either its of previous years, and that too with the least packages, not the dream packages. So be careful. In the last year, I think the good placements were coming from off campus; the good placements inside campus were of 1 LPA and either of 2-3 LPA. So please check the real data if you're a placement-oriented person.
Infrastructure: Hostel are good. In short, you'll learn your life there only. In hostels, the wardens are not bad. You'll see the great Indian separation in hostel. Like north and south India are almost separate. And otherwise, people are like brothers in hostels.
Faculty: Faculty is good and bad, like all the colleges, if you ask them, they will elaborate, but if you get in face-to-face. You'll have degrees of exams like internals twice in a semester and lab internals, assignments viva, external, etc. But you can keep up with it.
Other: It's a good college. In the first semester, you hate this college for its facilities, but later you realize its better than some very good colleges in Bangalore.

Actual, our college is good for placement.
Placements: Placements are actually pretty good for us, with an average of about 7 LPA. About 70% of students get placed, and we need to stay focused all the time to make it work properly for ourselves. However, there are no significant roles that the college is offering to students.
Infrastructure: The hostels are not that good. There is no proper infrastructure for the hostels, and they don't provide good food. The washrooms and rooms are not clean, and I’ve seen some of the worst washrooms ever. It is one of the worst hostel experiences in Bangalore, and there is also no proper water supply.
Faculty: I’m in the electronics and communication branch at our college. Our department has faculty who teach quite well and have good experience. They have done research in various fields, which provides benefits for students to score well.
Other: We do have events like VERVE and Kalanagali, along with other college activities, such as Kannada Rajyotsava.

Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, Bangalore (College Review).
Placements: The placement percentage is average, like 70 to 80%. Still, many students go for off-campus placement and many of them end up getting an even better package. I'm not too sure about the current highest package but a guy from 7th semester got a 13 LPA offer, and I heard someone from ETE also got an 18 LPA offer. So the college is good as long as you are good; ultimately, it all depends on you.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really good; we have our own personal Wi-Fi, which we bought for our own expenses (4-6 students) together, though there is some news that now the Wi-Fi will be provided by the administration. Mess food is above average if compared to nearby colleges. So some days it is literally very good, but there are also a also a few days when the food is not that good (though it is edible) (most of the caterers are from UP, Bihar and Jharkhand).
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful (obviously, 1-2 are here who are the best) but overall, the faculty is really good and helpful. The course is relevant but the problem is that they always ask for 85% attendance (though we have made it 70 for this semester because most of us don't have satisfactory attendance). The exams are not that difficult and anyone can very easily maintain their GPA above 7.5 or 8.
Other: The alumni network is good and being in touch with seniors and some passed-out people is really great and helpful.

Detailed review of Sir. M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology.
Placements: The placements offered at this college are decent. The average package offered for computer science students is 8–9 LPA and around 5–6 LPA for core branches. A few companies that visit the campus include Cognizant, Toyota-Kirloskar, Target, NoBroker.com, Nokia, and Amedius Labs, among a few others. It is to be noted that the placement percentage has recently declined in recent years, most likely due to the recession. However, the college is putting forth efforts to get good placements again in the future.
Infrastructure: The college has a sprawling campus of over 133 acres, and you will never feel suffocated on campus. The campus is filled with lush green space for students to sit, hang out and work. The campus has many facilities, including a state-of-the-art new library block, a gym, 2 sports grounds spanning over 30 acres, indoor sports facilities, an auditorium, labs, canteens, coffee shops, and an ATM, among many others. The hostels and mess are decent. Other hostels are quite spacious but lack modernity when compared to other hostels.
Faculty: Most of the professors are well qualified, especially the ones that teach core branches (progress needs to be made in newer courses like CSE with IOT and AI/ML). However, the major downside to the curriculum is that the college is affiliated with VTU, which makes the courses feel a little ancient when compared to other universities. There is definitely room for improvement. Exams might get scheduled often. The examination is not very tough but the evaluation by VTU might seem unfair at times.
Other: The campus is situated off Kempegowda International Airport and is quite far away from the main city. However, it is well connected by BMTC buses and the college also has bus transportation facilities that connect to different parts of Bengaluru. There is a lack of metro connectivity at the moment (the metro is expected to be completed only by 2027). The college does not have much in its surroundings so there is not much you can do around the college. The college does conduct an annual techno-cultural festival named 'kalanjali' every year in the month of December and also hosts smaller fests like Verve during the summers.

Always recommend BMSIT over this college.
Placements: 99% placed in ECE according to college website. The highest package was 21 LPA from just pay. Top recruiting company is TCS, Bosch, continental etc. About 90% got internship. IT, software developer etc. Roles are offered in ECE course. The lowest packege was 2.4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Faculty members are good (3/5) classes are good in every class have projector and library is also good. In hostel rooms are good clean and have the basic facilities. Hot water is not coming every day. Mess food is avarage. Sport ground is big and has all the facilities.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are good, qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is not relevant and it does not make the students industry ready. However this course is helpful for placement and knowledge. Semester exams is difficult.

Overall it's a good experience I would recommend this college for only CSE, ECE, ISE courses.
Placements: The highest package was 11 LPA for Electronics and communication offered by PEGA systems, for software engineer role. Placements were best in 2019 and for our year placements were above average due to covid19. But for computer Science they had 13 LPA package offered. Average package was around 4LPA. Some of the students even got multiple offers.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure, facilities like classrooms, labs, and library are satisfactory with a vast campus. Now recently they have built temple, library and canteen. There is a sports room, coffee shop, and multiple blocks. Wi-Fi is also available.
Faculty: Teaching is good and they are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable with some are exceptions. Just the subjects alone does not make students industry ready. Semester exams are neither difficult nor easy.
Other: Computer Science, Electronics and communication, Information Science are the best courses. Fest, and events, are good but not much gathering is there. But it is best for hostelite.

Not so enjoyable because of classes. Placement is fine except covid. Campus is huge without compound
Placements: 80% of eligible candidates are placed. The highest package- 12 lpa. Average- 3-4 LPA. The lowest- 2 lpa. Top recruiter- Target, Pega system. Internship was private and not through company placed. In target 10 people got internship. Software engineer, test engineer, full stack roles were offered.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was available, labs facility is good. But some facilities are not there, likely few lab items for experiment isn't available. Classrooms are good. Library is also nice. Also there is new library in construction. Girls hostel is safe with staff and so. But food is not good. And also the facilities are not upto mark in hostel. Food available in canteen is nice Medical facilities was there. Since they have their dental hospital Sports and games also was good.
Faculty: Not all teachers were knowledgeable. But it was better. Course curriculum is relevant for mandatory subjects. For optional subjects they give the fixed course with no options to choose Semester exams is not easy nor difficult. 80% is the pass percentage .
Other: In E&C here the best thing is few teachers are good in quality teaching and few not. To improve to support students for programs other than curriculum like internship etc., Also to provide students choice of optional subjects Extra curricular activities is nice.

Hi Adarsh, Yes, you will easily get electronics and communication engineering if your rank is around or under 35000. As cut off of ECE also goes high, so don't forget to apply for electrical or civil also. Best of luck.
