VIT Pune BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
VIT Pune BTech is a four-year programme offered in eight specialisations, including Artificial Intelligence, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, and more. BTech in Computer Sciences & Engineering is further available in multiple sub-specialisations. Furthermore, candidates can also apply for BTech second-year Engineering direct admission (SEDA) for three years.
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai, governs the admission process for BTech. Candidates are shortlisted based on the scores obtained in the state-level exams. The institute also provides BTech second-year Engineering direct admission (SEDA) based on the candidate's last qualifying exam. Admission is done through CAP for BTech (SEDA). As per the VIT Pune admission guidelines, candidates will have to submit the admission fee after the document verification and selection, for admission confirmation. VIT Pune BTech Admission 2025: How to Apply?
VIT Pune BTech admission process is inclusive of application form filling, appearing for MHT CET to get into BTech, result announcement, online counselling, document verification, and admission confirmation. Step 1: VIT Pune BTech Application Process 2025
To apply for the BTech course, candidates must apply through MHT CET. The mode of application is online for all courses. Candidates must visit the official website of MAHCET to begin the application process. Candidates can check here how to fill out the MHT CET application form 2025. The link to fill application form is given below.
Step 1.1: Open the MHT CET 2025 official website - cetcell.mahacet.org
Step 1.2: Click on "New Candidate Registration"
Step 1.3: Register for the exam by filling in the required information and clicking on the submit button
Step 1.4: Upon successful registration, candidates will be redirected to the application form. Fill in the required information in the MHT CET application form to complete the process
Step 1.5: Upload scanned images of the photo and signature
Step 1.6: Pay the application fees
Step 2: Appear for the Entrance Exam
After the form is filled out, the applicants need to appear for the MHT CET. The MHT CET 2025 examination will have 3 sections/papers of 100 marks each: Paper 1 of Mathematics, Paper 2 of Physics and Chemistry combined, and Paper 3 of Biology. Candidates willing to join the Engineering course should appear for Papers 1 and 2. Aspirants of Pharmacy courses should appear for Papers 2 and 3.
Step 3: Counselling Process
Candidates who have appeared in MHT CET or JEE Main can participate in the counselling for the allotment of seats in BTech courses in Maharashtra. To participate in the MHT CET 2024 counselling, candidates need to register online on the official website mahacet.org. At the time of registration, candidates need to fill in all the required details in the form and upload the necessary documents. The CET Cell will release the MHT ECT merit list with the rank of candidates after the completion of the counselling registration process.
Step 4: Seat Allotment
The allotment of seats will be based on position in the MHT CET merit list 2025. Candidates who will be allotted seats have to confirm their admission online by paying the seat confirmation fees and reporting to the allotted institute.

VIT Pune BTech Cutoff
VIT Pune BTech cutoff is the minimum score candidates require to qualify for the entrance exam. The institute accepts the cutoffs of the MHCET and JEE Main exams for allocating the seats. Scoring above the cutoff will make candidates eligible to appear for the seat allotment conducted for admission to VIT Pune.
