Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains for prestigious institutes takes place in two-phases, deviating from the conventional once-in-a-year approach, providing aspirants to venture certain scrutiny towards the preparation strategy.

However, for some, the results might not be satisfactory in terms of the preparation standards. In such a scenario, many opt to go for a year-long journey while others go ahead and apply for other prominent institutions that accept JEE Main scorecard.

The dropping out strategy works best for someone who knows all the rudimentary skills and insights required for substantial growth in terms of attaining the overall score in JEE Mains.

Many aspirants prefer only the topmost National Institutes of Technology (NITs), with overall high percentile score. However, there are many that don't know the fact that few NITs, especially NIT-Silchar and NIT-Agartala accept students with a lower scorecard too. However, the eventual return on investment in terms of campus placement makes the overall experience worth it.

The placement scenario for the topmost NITs remains the same with subsequent NITs, especially for circuital branches. While for core branches, the placement scenario varies with the NITs, so eventually many from lower NITs prefer higher education.

The counselling session and mock seat allocation provides a valuable prediction of the possible colleges accepting JEE Mains scorecard, this method proves to be decisive in terms of selecting desired universities.

Mock seat approach and counselling methods give the certainty of options such as freezing, floating or sliding with the respective college or branch. Those confused with their branch can opt for a sliding procedure after their freshman when moving on to being a sophomore. Internal sliding is not possible in every NIT, that's when counselling and seat allocation comes handy.

With a respectable score and hoping for further improvement in the overall scorecard, one can apply for the second phase of the examination. The exam is being conducted twice a year, aspirants may appear for both the attempts. The attempt for an academic year is considered as one.

As an alumnus of National Institute of Technology Agartala, 2019. I can vouch that the NITs of North-East have improved a lot in terms of infrastructure, transportation, monetary funds and most importantly, the academic perspective which involves placements, digital library and scope for higher education.

The belief of the North-East NITs being treated as outcasts is now out of the list and is gaining a substantial foundation like the rest of the NITs.
