MET 2024 seat allotment for Round 2 is now available. Allotment of seats has been done based on the candidates' MET 2024 scores, preferences, category and seat availability. The authorities have also released the MET 2024 cutoff for Round 2. Qualified candidates will have to participate in the MET 2024 counselling process for admission into the participating campuses. Three rounds of MET 2024 counselling are being held. The scores obtained in the entrance examination are available through the MET 2024 result. MET 2024 Phase 1 and 2 exam was conducted from April 16 to 17, 2024 and May 18 and 19, 2024, as a computer-based test. Read to know more about MET 2024.

Since MET is one of the popularly picked private engineering entrance exams, the difficulty level of MET is quite high. Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) conducts Manipal Entrance Test (MET) annually to select candidates for admission into their participating campuses. MET 2024 Counselling

MET 2024 counselling process has commenced. All qualified candidates will have to register, pay the fee and fill out their choices for MET counselling 2024. MET 2024 seat allotment result for Round 2 has been announced. Candidates will be able to check their allotment status by logging in using their application number and OTBS password. The allotted candidates will have to confirm their admission by verifying their documents and paying the required fee. If the candidates are unable to confirm their admission before the final date, then their allotment will be cancelled.

Q:   Will MET counselling be held online?

A:

Yes. The authorities will conduct MET counselling process online. To be registered for the MET counselling, the candidates will have to log in using the required credentials. While filling out the online counselling form, the candidates will have to update their details, select their choice of colleges and courses and pay the fee. The authorities will also announce the MET seat allotment online. Candidates will be allotted as per their obtained rank, preferences and seat availability.

 

Q:   What is the MET counselling registration process?

A:

To participate in the MET counselling process, the candidates will have to complete the registration process before the final date. To be registered for MET counselling, the candidates will have to click on the registration link and log in using their application number and OTBS password. After checking the profile, the candidates will have to update it with the necessary information . Not much changes in the details can be made during the MET counselling registration process. Candidates will also have to select their choice of courses and campuses in the order of preference for allotment. Fresh registration and choice filling/editing will be allowed for every round of MET counselling.

 

Q:   When will MET 2024 seat allotment be announced?

A:

MET 2024 seat allotment for Round 2 is now available. Candidates will be able to access their MET seat allotment status online by logging in using the required credentials. The authorities are expected to conduct around three rounds of MET seat allotment 2024. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability. Therefore, the candidates are advised to choose their course and campus preference carefully.

MET 2024 result for Phase 2 exam has been announced online. Candidates can access the MET result 2024 by logging in using the required credentials. Q:   When will MET 2024 scorecard be available?

A:

MET 2024 scorecard date is yet to be announced. The authorities are expected to release the MET scorecard, a few days after the result is declared. To access the scorecard of MET 2024, the candidates will have to log in using the required credentials. Candidates will be able to check their obtained scores through the MET scorecard. The merit list of MET will be prepared after the scores are released. While preparing the merit list, the performance of the candidates in the entrance exam is important.

 

Q:   When will MAHE release the MET 2024 result and merit list?

A:

MAHE has released the MET 2024 result for Phase 2 exam. Candidates will be able to access the MET result online at manipal.edu. The scores and ranks obtained in the entrance examination will be released through the result of MET. Based on the result, the authorities will prepare the MET merit list. During counselling, MET merit list will be referred to by the authorities for the allotment of the candidates.

A:

Candidates will be able to check important personal and examination-related details thorugh the MET result. Some of the important details that the candidates will be able to find in the result of MET are - candidate's name, roll number, parent's name, date of birth, category, nationality, subject-wise and total obtained scores, etc. Candidates are advised to check the details on the MET result carefully before downloading it.

 

MET 2024 Application Form

MET 2024 application form for Phase 2 was available until April 22, 2024. During the MET application form 2024 process, the candidates had to register, fill out the required personal, academic and contact details, upload scanned documents and pay the required fee. The payment mode for the MET 2024 application fee was online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of payment was accepted by the authorities. All of the details provided in the application form of MET 2024 were required to be correct. After the final date, the authorities will not accept any applications.

MET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates will have to fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria if they want to apply for MET 2024:

BTech Courses - Candidates should have qualified 10+2, A-Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional subjects with a minimum of 50% mark taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.

Lateral BTech - 3 years Diploma in Engineering granted by the Board of Technical Examination of a State Government or passed BSc Degree from a recognized University with at least 45% marks and passed Xll standard with Mathematics as a subject.

Q:   What is the MET application fee?

A:

MET application fee has to be paid online by the candidates to successfully be registered for the entrance examination. For candidates belonging to the General Category, the application fee of MET is INR 600. All candidates will have to pay the MET application fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of payment will be accepted by the authorities.

 

Q:   How many MET exam cities can I choose during the application process?

A:

During the application process, the candidates will be able to choose three options from the list of the available MET exam cities. It is to be noted that the selection of exam cities will have to be done carefully since the allotment of exam centres will depend on it. The authorities will allot the MET 2024 exam centres as per the preferences of the candidates and seat availability. In case the first preference is not available, the candidates will be allotted in the exam centres present in their next preference. 

 

Q:   Will there be a correction facility for the registered MET candidates?

A:

As of now, the authorities have not announced any information regarding a correction facility for the MET application form. However, the candidates will be able to edit/correct their details provided in the MET application form before the final submission. Candidates are advised to be careful while filling out the application form, as they will not be able to edit/correct the details after the form is submitted. In case of any information regarding the correction facility, the details will be updated here.

 

Q:   What are the steps to fill out the MET application form?

A:

Candidates will have to fill out the MET application form online at manipal.edu. After clicking on the registration link, the candidates will have to provide their basic details such as email address and mobile number. The candidates will also have to generate a password for future login. Next, the candidates will have to fill out their personal, academic and contact details. The preferred course and test centre has to be selected. The scanned photograph and signature of the candidate has to be uploaded as per the official specifications. Finally, the candidates will have to pay the application fee online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card.

 

MET 2024 Slot Booking

The authorities have closed the MET 2024 slot booking facility for Phase 2. To access the MET slot booking facility, the candidates had to log in using their application number and OTBS password. Since the slot booking was done on a first-come-first-serve basis, the candidates were advised to log in and complete the process as soon as possible. After the MET slot booking was completed, the admit card was generated. If the candidates failed to book their slots, then they were automatically allotted by the authorities.

Q:   Is it necessary to complete the MET slot booking process?

A:

Yes. It is necessary for the candidates to complete their MET slot booking process. All candidates are advised to log in and complete the slot booking as soon as possible since it will allow them to have more chances of obtaining their preferred slots. If the candidates are not able to complete the slot booking before the final date, then they will be automatically allotted seats by the authorities as per the availability. The authorities will not accept any requests for change of slots after the final date. 

 

Q:   When will MET slot booking start?

A:

MET 2024 slot booking dates have been announced. Registered candidates were able to access the MET slot booking facility for the second attempt online from May 4 to 7, 2024. The authorities opened separate slot booking facilities for the different MET phases. If the candidates were not able to complete the slot booking before the final date, then they were automatically allotted slots as per the availability. No requests for changes in the allotted slots were accepted after the final date. For the first attempt, the slot booking facility was open from April 5 to 7, 2024.

 

Q:   What is the MET slot booking OTBS password?

A:

To log in for the MET slot booking process, the candidates will require the OTBS password. The authorities have informed that the OTBS password is the candidate's date of birth in the format of DDMMYYYY. The slot booking facility can only be accessed with the OTBS password. Candidates are required to have completed the MET registration process to access the OTBS password. To log in for the MET slot booking process, the candidates will need their application form number and OTBS password. After logging in, the candidates will have to change the password.

 

MET 2024 Admit Card

Candidates can now access and download the MET 2024 admit card for Phase 2 exam.  Using their application form number and OTBS password, the candidates will have to log in and download the MET admit card. It is to be noted that the authorities have also sent the MET 2024 hall ticket download link through email. Information regarding the allotted exam date, timings, centre address, and more has been released through the MET hall ticket. While reporting at the exam centre, the candidates will have to present their MET admit card 2024 along with identity proof. If the candidates are unable to present the documents, then they will not be allowed to attempt the exam. For Phase 1, the official MET 2024 admit card was available from April 13 to 15, 2024.

Q:   When will MET 2024 hall ticket be available?

A:

MET 2024 hall ticket for Phase 2 is now available. Candidates can now access the MET hall ticket 2024 online at manipal.edu. No other mode will be used to release the admit card of MET. Important information such as the allotted examination date, time, centre, exam day guidelines and more are available on the admit card. Candidates will have to present their admit card at the centre to attempt the entrance exam. For Phase 1, MET 2024 admit card was available from April 13 to 15, 2024.

 

Q:   What are the steps to download the MET hall ticket?

A:

Registered candidates will be able to access the MET hall ticket online at https://cdn.digialm.com/EForms/configuredHtml/32833/88209/login.html. Firstly, the candidates will have to log in using their application number and OTBS to complete the MET slot booking process. The OTBS password will be sent to the candidates through email. After selecting their preferred exam dates and slots, the candidates will have to confirm and submit them. MET admit card will be generated and be available for download after the slots are booked.

 

Q:   Where can I access the MET admit card download link?

A:

MET admit card download link will be available at the Manipal OTBS website. The candidates will not be able to access the MET hall ticket in any other mode. To generate the MET admit card, the candidates will have to complete the slot booking process. Only after successfully completing the slot booking, the candidates will be able to access the MET admit card. To download the admit card of MET, the candidates will have to log in using their application form number and OTBS password. 

 

MET 2024 Syllabus

The official MET 2024 syllabus will be released online soon. The detailed subjects, units and topics to be studied for the entrance examination will be available through the MET syllabus 2024. The candidates need to check and complete the syllabus before the examination. The authorities will prepare the MET question paper based on the syllabus. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics topics will have to be studied through the MET syllabus. Q:   Is the MET syllabus similar to the 12th standard syllabus?

A:

Yes, the MET syllabus is similar to the 11th and 12th standard qualifying/board examination. Since the entrance examination is prepared to assess the candidate's knowledge in Physics Chemistry Mathematics and English the topics to be studied will be the ones that the candidates have already studied in their 11th and 12th standard. Therefore, the candidates will also be able to simultaneously prepare for their 12th standard qualifying/board examination and MET.

 

Q:   Do I have to study the entire MET syllabus for the exam?

A:

Yes, the candidates are advised to study the entire MET syllabus for the entrance examination. While the candidates can check the previous year papers and sample papers to know the important topics and subject weightage, it is beneficial if the candidates are well-versed with the entire syllabus. By studying the entire syllabus, the candidates will have higher chances of securing more scores and raising their chances for admission into their preferred course and campus.

 

Q:   Which subjects have to be studied for MET?

A:

As per the MET syllabus, the candidates will have to study Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and English. The various topics and units of the syllabus that has to be studied for the examination is released through the syllabus of MET. Q:   What is the division of questions in the MET paper?

A:

The total number of questions to be answered in the MET paper is 60. Candidates will have to attempt two types of questions in the paper - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. In the Mathematics section, the candidates will have to answer 15 MCQ and 5 NAT questions. For the Physics and Chemistry section, there are 10 MCQs and 5 NAT questions. Finally, for the English section, there were a total of 10 MCQs.

 

Q:   What is the MET exam pattern?

A:

MET exam pattern will be prepared and released by the authorities of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). The pattern will consitute the details regarding how the entrance examination is conducted by the authorities. Through the exam pattern, the candidates will be able to obtain information about important details related to the entrance examination. MET is held as a computer-based test at various centres. During the 2 hour examination, the candidates will have to answer Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. One mark will be allotted for every correct answer. There will be no negative marking for Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions but for MCQs, one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

 

Q:   What are the sections in the MET exam pattern?

As per the MET exam pattern, the question paper will be divided into sections. The four sections of MET question paper are - Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English. The questions of all sections have to be attempted for the candidates to have a higher chance of securing the scores that they need for admissions. The total duration to attempt all sections of MET is 2 hours and no extra time will be provided. Candidates will be allowed to skip sections and later come back to the question to attempt it. However, it should be done within the allotted duration of the exam.

I did some research and learned that there are no options to make corrections in the application form of MET after the submission. According to the guidelines, a candidate can make corrections before submitting the application form, but there is no other way to do it once it's done.
