IBPS Clerk Selection Process 2026: The IBPS is recruitment agency for the Clerical posts for all the participating banks. The selection process of the clerk post starts with the release of notification and ends with the declaration of final result. The candidates should note that the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection will release the IBPS Clerk Notification in July/August 2026. The candidates are suggested to read all the details mentioned in the notification because they will be applicable till the completion of the selection process.

The Institute will provide twenty days to fill the IBPS application form. IBPS Clerk selection process is completed in two stages. All registered candidates are first required to appear in the prelims exam. The final selection of candidates is done based on the mains exam. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature. Allotment of candidates in IBPS Clerk exam is done in 11 participating banks as per the number of vacancies.

Step-wise IBPS Clerk Selection Process

The IBPS Clerk 2026 selection process will start with the release of official notification. It comprises prelims and mains exams. There is no interview since it is clerical level post. The complete selection process for IBPS Clerk is given below.

Release of IBPS Clerk Application Form

IBPS Clerk Application Form should be filled out online. The application fees are INR 850 for the General and OBC categories while it is INR 175 for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.

Issue of IBPS Clerk Admit Card

IBPS Clerk admit card is released in two stages: Prelims and Mains exam. The admit card for the prelims exam is released for all the registered candidates. IBPS Clerk admit card for the mains exam is released for the qualified candidates of prelims exam.

Appearing in the IBPS Clerk exam

The prelims and mains exams are conducted online across various cities in the country. The prelims exam comprises three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The test paper comprises 100 questions. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes, each section will be for 20 minutes. The score of the prelims exam will be calculated out of 100 marks. The mains exam comprises four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks for the mains exam are 200. Declaration of IBPS Clerk Result

IBPS Clerk Result is declared online in two stages. On the basis of the marks of the prelims exam, candidates are selected for the mains exam. Based on the marks of mains exam, candidates are shortlisted for the provisional allotment.

The provisional allotment is subject to the candidate fulfilling the criteria for Participating Bank and identity verification to the satisfaction of the allotted bank. This does not constitute an offer of employment. Verification of documents with regard to eligibility criteria will be carried out by the participating bank. The participating bank will also ascertain Proficiency of local language (reading, writing and speaking) of the State/UT for the provisionally allotted candidates. The participating bank reserves the right to cancel the candidature on account of deficiency of the same. Decision of the participating banks here shall be final and binding upon the candidates. In case it is detected at any stage of the recruitment process that, the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria his/her candidature/chance in the process shall stand forfeited.
