AFCAT Exam Day Guidelines 2026: The Indian Air Force will conduct AFCAT 1 2026 exam on January 31. AFCAT exam day guidelines were made available along with the admit card. Candidates need to follow the same while appearing for the exam.

AFCAT Exam Day Guidelines 2026: Are you appearing for AFCAT 1 2026 exam on Jan 30? If yes, read our article on the exam day guidelines. This carries the dos and don'ts related to the exam. Candidates need to follow the AFCAT exam day guidelines or else they will be debarred from appearing in the exam. The guidelines also carries details related to dress code, items prohibited inside the exam centre, items allowed inside the exam centre, reporting time, etc. AFCAT 1 admit card is available now. Candidates need to carry the printed copies of their admit cards of AFCAT along with one photo-identity proof to the exam centre. Read below for more details on AFCAT exam day guidelines. 

AFCAT Shift Timings 2026

Candidates can check below the exam timings of AFCAT:

AFCAT Exam Day Guidelines 2026: Instructions for Candidates

Candidates can check below AFCAT exam day guidelines:

  1. Candidates are required to report to the exam centre in batches from 07:30 am onwards (for the first Shift) and 12:30 pm onwards (for the second Shift) as per the time slot mentioned in the admit card
  2. Any request for change of exam centre or date of exam will not be entertained
  3. Candidates are required to put only the thumb impression on the admit card in advance, before proceeding to the exam centre. Signatures on the admit card are to be endorsed in front of the invigilator(s)
  4. Candidates must reach AFCAT exam centre as per the reporting time for frisking, verification process, biometrics, identification and inspection of admit card, ID proof, photograph, signature, etc.
  5. Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the location of the exam centre in advance and ensure that they report in time
  6. Candidates need to take back-to-back printout of AFCAT admit card.
  7. Candidates need to bring the following things to AFCAT exam centre:
  • AFCAT admit card
  • Candidate’s Aadhaar Card
  • Another valid photo identity card such as PAN card/passport/Driving License/Voter’s ID card or any other valid photo identity proof with details of name, father’s name and date of birth
  • Two passport-size colour photographs
  • Ballpoint pen (blue or black) for signing on the attendance sheet and rough work

8. Barred Items

The following items are prohibited inside the exam centre premises:

  • Blue tooth device, communication/ electronic/ digital/ wireless devices such as calculators, docupen, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, cellular phone, memory card/ stick, pager, organizer, personal digital assistant(PDA), concealed microphone or camera, earphones, radio, headset, walkman, recorder, translator, etc
  • Pencil-box, book, geometry box, paper, log tables, clip board, slide rule, etc.
  • Personal items such as wristwatch/wristband, bracelets, handbags, ornaments, wallet, purse, head gear, scarf, goggles, jacket, eatables items, etc.

9: Dress Code

  • Candidates need to wear slippers/sandals with flat heels
  • Closed footwear such as shoes is not allowed in the exam centre
  • Clothes with large buttons are not permitted.
  • Candidates wearing attire for religious purpose will be thoroughly frisked

10. The candidate’s colour photograph will be taken during verification process. Candidates are required to put the thumb impression on the admit card in advance (at home) before proceeding to the examination centre and to sign on the same in front of the invigilators.

11. Candidates will be allowed to leave the exam hall after completion of AFCAT/EKT

12. For rough work, A4 size sheet will be kept at each candidate's desk. Additional sheets will be provided to candidates on demand. Candidates are required to write name and particulars on the rough sheets and drop the same in the drop box/handover to the staff before leaving the exam hall

AFCAT 1 cut off 2026 will be released in March. It is common across all categories. Candidates need to secure the required cut off to qualify the exam. It is decided based on the exam difficulty level.
