Old payscale and grade pay (Sixth pay commission): INR 9,300-34, 800. The Grade Pay is INR 4,200.
New basic pay after seventh pay commission: The basic pay is INR 35,440.

Selected candidates will have to undergo a rigorous initial training in any one of RPF/RPSF training centre or any other such institution as decided by the Railway Administration. The trainee recruits/cadets will be given a stipend of INR 35,400 plus other allowances as admissible under the Railway Rules during the period of training. Candidates need to pass the final examination at the end of the training and before the final appointment.
