Kerala Pareeksha Bhawan released KTET notification 2024 for the April session on the official website on April 16, 2024. The KTET 2024 notification comprises all the details related to the exam such as the application process, eligibility criteria, exam dates, exam pattern, syllabus, and others. A:

The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan (KPB) releases the KTET admit card on the official website:ktet.kerala.gov.in a week before the exam date. The candidates can download the KTET admit card through the candidates' login usin the login credentials. The KTET admit card is a neccessary document which is required on the day of the exam. The candidates not having the KTET admit card will not be allowed to enter the KTET exam hall.

KTET Application Form 2024: How to apply?

KTET application form will be released for the exam soon on the official website. The KTET application fee for 2024 is INR 500 for the General category and INR 250 for the reserved category. A:

Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) levels are as follows: 

I. Primary Level (Class I-V)

II. Upper Primary Level (Class IV-VIII)

Educational Qualification: 

  • Minimum educational qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Level): Degree with Minimum 50 per cent from a U.G.C. recognised university/ SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ freedom fighters will be given for 5 per cent in Degree & 02 years Diploma (D.Ed) from N.C.T.E/ Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). or Degree with 02 years B.T.C., C.T. (Nursery)/ Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) (02 years) from Established by Law and U.G.C. recognised university. or Degree with qualify in Special B.T.C. Training from a U.G.C. recognised university. or Degree with 02 years B.T.C. Urdu Special Training in Uttar Pradesh from Established by Law and U.G.C. recognised university. or 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
  • Minimum educational qualification for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Level): Degree with B.T.C. from a U.G.C. recognised university & National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) or Degree with 50 per cent from a U.G.C. recognised institution/ Degree (B.Ed)/ B.Ed Special Education from Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). or Intermediate with 50 per cent & 4 years B.A/ B.S.C.Ed/ B.A.Ed from recognised by N.C.T.E. / U.G.C. or Intermediate with minimum 50 per cent & 4 years Bachelor’s degree in elementary education (B.El.Ed). or Degree with minimum 45 per cent from established by Law and U.G.C. recognised institution (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH/ freedom fighter candidates will be given for 5per cent) & B.Ed.
 

Q:   What are the minimum KTET Qualifying Marks?

A:

The minimum qualifying marks for the KTET exam are as follows:

  • For General and OBC candidates: 60 per cent marks (90 marks out of 150)
  • For SC/ST candidates: 55 per cent marks (82 marks out of 150)

 Candidates who score equal to or more than the minimum qualifying marks are considered to have qualified the KTET exam. It is important to note that the qualifying marks are the minimum marks required to pass the exam and do not guarantee selection for a teaching job. Candidates who qualify the KTET exam are eligible to apply for teaching jobs in primary and upper primary schools in the state of Kerala, subject to fulfilling other eligibility criteria mentioned in the recruitment notification.

 

KTET Exam Pattern 2024

The KTET 2024 exam will be conducted in four separate sessions for Category 1, Category 2, Category 3, and Category 4. In each KTET category paper, a total of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be asked and each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking in the exam. The candidates must go through the complete exam pattern for the KTET exam before applying. The KTET exam pattern will help the candidates understand the exam better which will result in good results.
