RBI Assistant prelims exam is held for one hour while the Mains exam is held for 135 minutes. Each section of the prelims exam is held for 20 minutes. In the Mains exam, Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language and Test of Numerical Ability are held for 30 minutes. The sectional timing for Test of General Awareness is 25 minutes. Q:   Is there any bond period for the RBI Assistant job?

No, there is no required bond period after being chosen as an RBI Assistant. After getting selected, you will have to undergo a six-month probationary period before getting a permanent posting as an RBI Assistant. However, there is a mandatory two-year service or bond period to be considered for promotion. This is for those who want to apply for the promotion to the manager-level post in RBI after getting selected as assistants. After serving two years, the assistants in RBI become eligible for merit-based promotions to higher-level posts.

The selection process includes preliminary and Mains exams followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The prelims exam is divided into three sections English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The total duration of the preliminary exam is 60 minutes. The Mains exam carries questions from Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness and Test of Computer Knowledge. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The marks of the Mains exam are taken into consideration for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for LPT.

In RBI Assistant there is no interview. However, candidates qualifying the Mains exam are required to appear for Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The interview process has been discontinued from the lower level post. The prelims exam of RBI Assistant comprises three sections-English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The mains exam of RBI Assistant comprises five sections-Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness and Test of Computer Knowledge. According to RBI Assistant marking scheme, for correct answers, candidates score one mark. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted. Q:   What is RBI Assistant application fees?
A: 

RBI Assistant application fee is INR 450 for OBC/General/EWS candidates, while it is INR 50 for SC/ST/PWD/EXS. The application fee of RBI Assistant can be paid online by using debit card/credit card, net banking, mobile wallets, etc. The application fee once paid by candidates will not be refunded by the examination authority. The basic pay of RBI Assistant is INR 20700. Candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. , as admissible from time to time. The payscale is INR 20700-1200 (3)-24300- 1440 (4) -30060-1920 (6)-41580-2080 (2)-45740-2370 (3)-52850- 2850-55700 (20 years). Candidates are entitled to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible from time to time. At present, initial monthly gross emoluments for Assistants is approximately INR 45,050.
