RRB NTPC Cutoff 2025: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) released the RRB NTPC Graduate cut off. The cut off is the minimum qualifying mark that candidates need to secure in order to qualify the exam. RRB NTPC cut off was released along with the RRB NTPC result. The cut off was made available on RRB region-wise official websites. RRB NTPC 2025 category-wise cutoff PDFs is provided on this page. RRB NTPC zone-wise cutoff is different for different zones. Railway NTPC cut off is calculated based on the normalisation.

Candidates are required to secure both the RRB NTPC qualifying marks and cut off in order to get selected for the next round of the selection process. The CBT 1 RRB NTPC Graduate exam was conducted from June 5 to 24, 2025. Read below for more details on the cut off of RRB NTPC.

RRB cut off is based on the total number of vacancies, the total number of candidates applied for the exam and the difficulty level of the exam. The cut off marks of RRB NTPC 2025 are released separately for all levels. Normalisation of RRB NTPC Cut off

Normalisation of the Railway NTPC cut off is done since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. This is done to adjust the difficulty level of the question. The Railways follow percentile-based normalisation. The formula for RRB NTPC normalisation is given below.

X is the percentile score of a candidate. If the X percentile score is found in Base Shift, then the corresponding Normalized Marks (N) are directly available. Otherwise, following standard mathematical formula of interpolation is to be used.

Stage of Railway NTPC Cut off

The cut off is released in the following stages:

RRB NTPC CBT 1 Cutoff

RRB NTPC Stage 1 cutoff is calculated based on the 100 marks. This stage is qualifying in nature and the marks secured in this stage are not counted for final merit list. Based on the Railway NTPC CBT 1 cut off, candidates are selected for CBT 2 exam.

RRB NTPC CBT 2 Cutoff

RRB NTPC Stage 2 cutoff is calculated out of 120 marks. The marks obtained in this stage are taken into consideration for the final merit list. Based on RRB NTPC CBT 2 cut off, candidates are selected for CBAT/Typing Test.

RRB NTPC CBAT Cut off

To qualify this stage, candidates require a minimum T-score of 42. Candidates need to score 70 per cent in CBT 2 and 30 per cent marks in CBAT inorder to be called for document verification.

RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test

Candidates need to secure the required cut off marks in the skill test. This is qualifying in nature. Candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Computer. Candidates are not allowed to use editing tools and spell-check facilities. Candidates are required to type at least 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi. The exam session consists of three parts-Typing practice for one minute to warm up & familiarize with key board, Break of 30 seconds and Typing Test for 10 minutes which will be taken for evaluation. Candidates will have to type in English or Hindi, as per the option exercised by them. English will be the Typing Language for those who have not exercised their option. Candidates who have opted Hindi for Typing Test must be familiar with the usage of Krutidev or Mangal font. The duration of the test is 10 minutes.

RRB NTPC Final Cut off

RRB NTPC final cut off is calculated based on CBT 2 exam, subject to candidates qualifying the CBAT/Typing Skill Test. Based on the final cut off, candidates are selected for appointment.

Q: How normalisation affects RRB NTPC cut off?

RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the normalised scores. This process is followed to adjust the difficulty level of questions since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions. The scores are normalised using the equi-percentile method. For eg: If the negative marking is 1/3 and candidates have answered 80 questions, out of which 12 were wrong, then the raw score will be 80-12-12 * (1/3) = 64. Therefore, 64 is the raw score.

Yes, there is normalisation of marks in RRB NTPC exam. According to the normalisation process, the marks obtained in the exam are calculated on the basis of an average score of the top one percent of the candidates considering all shifts. The marks are calculated up to five decimal places. RRB NTPC exam is conducted in various stages, such as first stage CBT, second stage CBT, Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) (as applicable), and Document Verification/Medical Examination.

RRB NTPC Cut off for CBAT

This stage is conducted for Station Master (SM)/Traffic Assistant (TA) posts. Candidates eight times the number of vacancies based on their performance in CBT 2 are shortlisted for this stage. The qualifying marks prescribed for this stage are 42 which candidates need to secure in each test battery. To shortlist candidates for document verification, the examination authority will fix the cut-off marks for this stage.

RRB NTPC Cut off for Typing Skill Test (TST)

The typing skill test is conducted for Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, Typing Skill Test (TST) posts. To qualify for this stage, candidates need to secure the cutoff marks.

RRB NTPC Cut off for Document Verification

Candidates are called for document verification based on their performance in CBT 2 and CBAT/TST (as per the posts). The examination authority decides RRB NTPC Cut off marks to call candidates for document verification. Candidates clearing the document verification are called for Medical Fitness Test.

If I give partial RRB NTPC preferences, will I be considered fully?

Candidates change but only for the specifc zones and posts they have listed. Candidates indicating partial prefetrences are considered only for those choices and not for others.
