Overview

RRB NTPC Notification 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board is likely to release the RRB NTPC 2026 Notification soon on the official website in August. It will be released for both graduate and undergraduate posts. The information mentioned in the notification are eligibility, application process, syllabus, pattern, etc. It is advised to the candidates to read eligibility and notifcation carefully before applying for the Railway NTPC exam. The RRB NTPC application form will also be released along with he notification. Candidates will be required to fill the form in a deadline. 

RRB NTPC Notification 2025

The Railway Recruitment Board released the exam date for the Under Graduate Posts (CEN No. 05/2025). The exam dates are May 7, 8 9 and June 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20 and 21, 2026. The Graduate exam was conducted from March 16 to March 27, 2026. Railway NTPC UG notification PDF for CEN No. 05/2025 was made available on October 27. The notification for Graduate posts (CEN No. 06/2025) was released on October 21. The last date to submit the application form for Graduate Posts was extended till November 27. The last date to fill the application form for Undergraduate posts was November 27.

RRB NTPC Eligibility 2026

RRB NTPC eligibility is fixed by the examination authority. The elgibility comprises the age, qualification and medical standards. The age given for undergraduate posts is 18 and 33 years. The age for Graduate posts is 18 to 36 years. The qualification as per RRB NTPC eligibility criteria for Graduate posts is Graduation. The qualification for UG posts is Class 12 pass. The stages of RRB NTPC exam are CBT 1, CBT 2, Typing Skill/CBAT Document Verification/Medical Exam.

RRB NTPC Notification 2026: Syllabus

The Board will release the syllabus for the Railway recruitment for Graduate and Undergraduate posts on the official website. The Syllabus also highlights the important topics and sub topics which are required by the aspirants to study and prepare for the exam. Those candidates preparing for the exam should also focus on revising the RRB NTPC exam topics given in the syllabus. Candidates will be able to download the NTPC exam syllabus PDF on this page. RRB NTPC subjects are General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning.The standard of questions is of Class 10, 12, and graduation levels. RRB NTPC syllabus is given below.

Therefore, the RRB NTPC syllabus comprises the chapters that candidates need to study for the exam. It is given by the examination authority based on the nature of the posts. Usually questions in the exam are based on the chapters that they have studied in the high school level. The total marks allotted to the CBT 1 are 100. The CBT 2 carries a total of 120 marks. The duration of the test is 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by scribe). For Goods Train Manager, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, there are only two stage CBTs followed by document verification and medical examination.

There will be two stage CBTs for RRB NTPC undergraduate posts followed by Computer based Typing Skill Test (TST) wherever applicable. Typing Skill Test for Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk cum Typist. Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination. For Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and Trains Clerk there shall be two stage CBT followed by document verification and medical examination. RRB wise short listing of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT is done at the rate
of 15 times the vacancies. The short listing for Computer Based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test is done to the extent of 8 times the vacancies (may increase or decrease as per the requirement of Railway Administration) based on the merit of the candidates in 2nd Stage CBT. When a candidate is qualified in 1st stage CBT & shortlisted for subsequent stages as OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD he/she will continue to be considered as OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD respectively in all subsequent stages.
