Yes, there is a minimum qualifying cut off in RRB NTPC exam. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks. Besides, cut off marks, candidates are also required to secure the qualifying marks as per their categories. RRB NTPC exam will be conducted separately for graduate and undergraduate posts. The level of difficulty will be different for graduate and undergraduate posts. The exam comprises subjects such as General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning. The language of the paper will be set in Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu.

RRB NTPC CBT 1 Admit Card for graduate posts was issued from June 1, 2025. The admit card is released on the region-wise official websites of RRBs. To download the admit card, candidates are required to enter user ID and password. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. Prior to the release of admit card, the city intimation slip is released. RRB NTPC admit card is an important document without which candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. RRB NTPC admit card comprises details such as the candidate's name, roll number, registration number, date of birth, login ID, password, exam day guidelines, scanned photograph and signature, etc. Candidates are advised to retain their admit cards till the completion of the recruitment process.

RRB NTPC CBT 1 city intimation slip 2025 has been released for Graduate Posts. Registered candidates can download RRB NTPC city intimation slip by logging with the required credentials. RRB NTPC city intimation slip comprises details related to the allotted test cities.

According to government notification, there will be no interviews at the Group C and Group D level post recruitment. The RRB NTPC recruits for Group C level posts in railways; there will be no interviews for the RRB NTPC at levels 2, 3,4,5, and 6. The selection process for NTPC is as follows: 1. First Stage Computer Based Test, 2. Second-stage computer-based test 3. The third stage is a typing skill test or a computer-based aptitude test, depending on the post. 4. Finally, document verification and a medical examination will be done after shortlisting aspirants.

RRB NTPC selection process comprises various stages such as CBT 1, CBT 2, CBAT/CBTST, document verification and medical exam. RRB NTPC application form is released online. The application fee can be paid online and offline. The application fee for all candidates except the fee concession categories is INR 500 whereas it is INR 250 for PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class.

Whereas, candidates applying for undergraduate posts should have passed Class 12.

In RRB NTPC registration form, candidates need to enter their name, date of birth, father's name, mother's name, Aadhaar number, SSLC/Matric roll number, year of passing, mobile number and email-ID. Before submitting the registration, ensure and confirm that all the information given are correct. The registration details cannot be changed later. Candidates should note that their email and mobile numbers will be verified during the Online Application process with a One Time Password (OTP).. .

RRBs reject the RRB NTPC application form if the photographs of candidates are not valid. The photograph should be in JPEG format and the size of photograph should be between 30-70KB. Candidates are advised to upload their photographs correctly to avoid rejection in the application form. The photograph should be uploaded as per the specifications prescribed by the examination authority. The reasons for rejection of RRB NTPC application are given below:

• Invalid photos on account of Black and White photo, photo with cap or wearing Goggles. Photos which are disfigured, small size, full body, showing only one side view of the face, unrecognizable photos, photostatcopy of photo, group photo,
  selfie photo, photo taken by mobile, morphed photo and online application without photo among others.
  Signature in capital/block letters
• Not possessing the prescribed qualification for the post(s) as on the closing date of registration
• Over-aged or under-aged or Date of Birth wrongly filled
• Multiple applications to different RRBs or to same RRB. In such case, all applications will be rejected and such candidates will be debarred from future RRB/RRC exams
• Candidate's name figuring in the debarred list of any RRB/RRC
• Incomplete or incorrectly filled application
• Any other irregularities which are observed and considered as invalid by RRB

The reasons for rejection of the RRB NTPC application form are invalid photograph, wrong date of birth, incorrect details, multiple applications, etc. Candidates should enter the details carefully to avoid any rejection of the application form. Candidates should fill the RRB NTPC application form online only. The application fee for all candidates except the fee concession categories is INR 500 whereas it is INR 250 for PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class. The application fee is refunded to candidates once they appear for the CBT 1 exam. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ ExSM/ PwBD/ Female/ Minority/EBC/Transgender categories will be entitled to get a full refund of their examination fees, which is INR 250. Whereas candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC categories receive a partial refund of their examination fees, which is INR 400 after deducting the bank charges.

RRB NTPC exam is conducted to select eligible candidates for various non-technical level posts in Indian Railways. RRB NTPC salary is different for different posts. The starting basic salary range offered to undergraduate posts is INR 19,900 to 21,700. While, the graduate post employees are offered RRB NTPC salary in the range of INR 25,500 to INR 35,400. The monthly basic salary for Junior Clerk cum Typist is INR 19,900 while it is INR 35,400 for Station Master and Commercial Apprentice. The instructions related to RRB NTPC Typing Test are given below:

• The candidates are required to type at least 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi
• The candidates will have to type in English or Hindi, as per option exercised by them on RRB websites. English will be the Typing Language for those who have not exercised their option Candidates who have opted Hindi for Typing Test must be familiar with the usage of Krutidev or Mangal font
• The exam session consists of three parts as Typing practice for one minute to warm up & familiarize with key board,  Break of 30 seconds and Typing Test for 10 minutes which will be taken for evaluation
• As the skill test is to determine the speed, candidates who have completed the passage can retype passage from the beginning within the duration of test i.e. 10 minutes. Candidates who do not type the whole passage at least once in 10 minutes will be treated as disqualified. The transcripts of those candidates who do not type 300 words in English or 250 words in Hindi within the prescribed time will not be evaluated
• The evaluation of the passage typed by the candidate will be done as follows:
• The mistakes will be classified as full mistakes and half mistakes. 5 per cent mistakes of the total words typed may be ignored. Accordingly, the total number of mistakes will be calculated as under:

1. No. of full mistakes + No. of half mistakes/2 = Total Mistakes
2. Number of mistakes – 5 per cent of total number of words typed = Final count of mistakes

• The typing speed of the candidate will be worked out by the following formula:
• Typing Speed= No. of total words typed – (Final count of mistake x 10)/Time 
• For example: If a candidate types a total number of 400 words in 10 minutes and commits 10 final count of mistakes, his speed would be worked out as follows:

1. 400- (10x10)/10= 300/10 = 30 w.p.m

• The minimum speed should be 30 words per minute in English and 25 words per minute in Hindi

 

 

 

The first stage CBT of RRB NTPC comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test paper carries a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The first stage CBT is qualifying in nature. The test carries 100 marks.
