The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC Stenographer result on November 28, 2025, on its Central Portal - ssc.gov.in. The Commission released the result for Grade 'C' and 'D' separately. The Commission will now call the selected candidates for the skill test. The Commission is expected to release the SSC Steno skill test dates soon. The SSC Steno exam was conducted on August 6, 7 & 8, 2025. 

SSC Stenographer notification was released on June 6, 2025. Earlier, it was scheduled to be released on June 5, 2025. SSC Stenographer application was available from June 6 to 26, 2025.  SSC Stenographer dates highlight the important events pertaining to the exam such as the release of the application form, admit card, declaration of result, etc. Candidates need to keep SSC Stenographer dates handy so that they do not miss any events related to the exam.

The Staff Selection Commission is expected to release the new SSC Stenographer 2026 dates in its exam calendar. The Commission will release the notification date and tentative exam dates of the SSC Stenographer 2026 exam.

The Computer Based Test of SSC Stenographer comprises three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. SSC Stenographer admit card 2025 for CBT exam was released on August 4. Link to download admit card is made available on official website. To download admit card, candidates need to enter required credentials. Hard copy of admit card is not sent to candidates by post. Admit card is an important document without which candidates are not allowed to appear for exam. Candidates need to carry printed copy of their admit cards along with one photo-identity proof to exam centre.

SSC Stenographer Result 2025 Dates

The Staff Selection Commission conducted the SSC Stenographer exam in August 6 to 8. The Commission released its result on November 28. The Commission selected 8,624 candidates for the skill test stage. The Commission will soon release the Skill Test date and the final result will be released around a month after the skill test.

The selection process of SSC Stenographer comprises CBT and skill Test in Stenography. The CBT comprises three sections, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The total marks for the test are 200. Candidates are given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi. Candidates need to type the dictation at the speed of 100 words per minute for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for the post of Grade D.

Filling of application form: SSC Stenographer application form is released online on the official website. Interested candidates are advised to fill the application form within the prescribed deadline. The application fees are INR 100 for General and OBC candidates. While SC, ST, women, and ESM candidates are exempted from payment of fees.

Release of admit card: SSC Stenographer admit card is released two weeks before the exam. Registered candidates can download the admit card from the sub-regional websites of the commission. SSC Stenographer exam: The computer-based test of SSC Stenographer comprises three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The test paper carries a total of 200 objective-type questions. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The duration of the test is two hours. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Marks scored by candidates are normalised to determine the merit list and cutoff marks. On the basis of the marks of the computer-based tests, candidates are shortlisted for the Skill Test. Skill Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature. Final selection and allocation of Ministries/ Departments are made on the basis of the performance of candidates in the computer-based test and the preference of posts given by them at the time of document verification.

Declaration of result: The result is announced online on the official website separately for different stages of recruitment. SSC Stenographer result is made available in PDF form. The scores of both qualified and non-qualified candidates are made available a few days after the declaration of the result. Candidates can download the scorecard by logging with the required credentials.
