- To begin with filling the SSC Stenographer Apply Online 2025, candidate needs to provide basic details of themselves such as name, parents' name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number etc

The Computer Based Test of SSC Stenographer comprises three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. The General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections carry 50 questions each while the English Language and Comprehension section comprises 100 questions. Total marks allotted to General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections are 50 each while the English Language and Comprehension section carry 100 marks. Candidates will be given two hours to complete the exam.
In the skill test, candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi which they need to type at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for Stenographer Grade D post.

SSC Stenographer 2025 Selection Process
SSC Stenographer exam is conducted in two stages-CBT and skill test. Candidates qualifying the CBT are called for Skill Test. Final selection is done based on CBT and skill test.
SSC Stenographer 2025 Exam Pattern
SSC Stenographer exam is conducted in two levels-CBT and Skill Test. The CBT of SSC Stenographer comprises three sections Feneral Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, English Language and Comprehension, The total marks allotted to the CBT are 200. The exam is conducted in computer-based mode for two hours. The question paper carries objective type multiple choice questions. Questions will be set in Hindi and English except for Part III. The minimum percentage of marks for qualifying in the SSC Stenographer Computer Based Examination will be as under:

SSC Stenographer Skill Test
The Skill Test is qualifying in nature and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the Skill Test for different categories of candidates. In the skill test, candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/ Hindi at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on a computer. The skill test will be held at the Commission’s Regional/ Sub Regional Offices or at other Centre(s) as may be decided by the Commission.
