SSC Stenographer exam include subjects such as General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language & Comprehension. Candidates must understand the exam pattern, cover important topics and use trusted books as given below:

Q:   How should I plan my study schedule for SSC Stenographer exam?
A: 

Candidates must prepare a good plan. They should revise Grammar, Vocabularly, etc. Candidates must study four to six hours. They should revise all the topics given in the syllabus thoroughly.

Q:   How to solve SSC Steno mock tests and previous year papers?
A: 

Candidates must start solving mock tests after completing 60 to 70 per cent of the syllabus. Candidates must begin with the topic-wise/sectional tests then move to full-length mocks. Candidates must take weekly full mocks. They should thoroughly analyse mistakes, track weak areas and improve the same.

 

Q:   How do I prepare for the Skill Test (Stenography)?
A: 

Candidates must start shorthand dictation practice early even while preparing CBT.  Required speeds are Grade C: 100 wpm for 10 minutes (transcription: 40 min, English),  Grade D: 80 wpm for 10 minutes (transcription: 50–65 min), Candidates must build consistency in accuracy and transcription under time pressure.

The selection process of SSC Stenographer comprises CBT and skill Test in Stenography. The CBT comprises three sections, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The total marks for the test are 200. Total marks allotted to General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections are 50 each while the English Language and Comprehension section carry 100 marks. Candidates will be given two hours to complete the exam.

In the skill test, candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi which they need to type at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for Stenographer Grade D post.

Yes, the Staff Selection Commission released the SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D exam final answer key on its official website - ssc.gov.in. The Commission prepared the final answer key based on the objection received from the candidates.
