The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the SSC Stenographer 2025 dates. The exam was conducted successfully by SSC. The Computer Based Test of SSC Stenographer comprises three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. The General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections carry 50 questions each while the English Language and Comprehension section comprises 100 questions. Total marks allotted to General Intelligence & Reasoning and General Awareness sections are 50 each while the English Language and Comprehension section carry 100 marks.
The complete selection process of SSC Stenographer is explained below:
Release of application form: SSC Stenographer application form is released online. The application fee is INR 100, Women and Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) candidates are exempted from fee payment.
Issue of admit card: SSC Stenographer admit card is released online on the respective regional websites of the commission. Candidates can access their admit cards by logging with registration ID/roll number/candidate’s name and password.
Computer-Based Test: This is the first stage of SSC Stenographer Grade C & D. The computer-based test is conducted for all candidates who successfully register for the exam. The exam comprises three sections, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The total marks for the test are 200.
Declaration of result: SSC Stenographer result is declared online for different stages of exams. The result is made available in PDF format. It displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Skill Test in Stenography: This stage is conducted for the shortlisted candidates of the computer-based test. Candidates are given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi. SSC Stenographer 2025 Eligibility Criteria

SSC Stenographer Notification 2025: How to Apply?
SSC Stenographer application form can be filled online only from the official website of SSC. The application fee is INR 100, Women, SC, ST, PWD, Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from fee payment. The fee can be paid using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card, or in cash. The process of filling online application form consists of two parts.

- For one-time registration, candidates need to click on ‘Register Now’ provided in the login section
- While registering, candidates need to enter basic details, additional details & contact details and upload scanned images of photograph and signature
- Candidates need to provide information regarding Aadhaar Number/Identity Card number
- Candidates have to enter the name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, details of Class 10 exam, level of the highest educational qualification
- Provide a valid mobile number, email ID, address
- When the basic details are saved, candidates are required to confirm their mobile number and email ID
- On confirmation, registration number and password will be generated. The same will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number and email ID

- Upon clicking ‘Final Submit’ different OTPs are sent to candidates registered mobile number
- Candidates need to enter the OTPs in the required field to complete the registration process
- Read the declaration carefully and click the ‘I Agree’ button
Candidates can edit/modify the application parameters through the application correction window. Candidates will be allowed to re-submit applications after making requisite corrections/changes in the one-time registration/online application data as per their requirements. The Commission will levy uniform correction charges of INR 200 for making correction and re-submitting modified/corrected application for the first time and INR 500 for making correction and re-submitting modified/ corrected application for the second time. The correction charges will be applicable to all candidates irrespective of their gender/category.

According to SSC Stenographer exam pattern, the computer-based exam comprises three parts: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The test paper comprises 200 questions and the total marks of the test are 200. The duration of the test is two hours. The skill test is conducted online and candidates are given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi which candidates need to type at a speed of 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for the post of Stenographer Grade D.
