TNPSC Group 2 result 2022-23 for the main exam is expected to release online by April 2023.  The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is expected to conduct the Group 2 main exam on February 25. TNPSC Group 2 main exam will be an objective type which will be conducted offline across the state. There will be one paper only and around 55,000 candidates are expected to appear in the exam. The TNPSC Group 2 prelims result was released on November 9. The Commission did not release the category-wise cutoff with the result. It is expected that it will be released after the completion of the exam process. The Commission conducted the TNPSC Group 2 exam on May 21, 2022.

How to Check the TNPSC Group 2 Result 2022?

  • Go to the official website of TNPSC - http://www.tnpsc.gov.in/
  • Click on the results tab (given on the right-hand side)
  • Click on the result link given in the drop-down list
  • Click on the “Latest Result” table that will appear on the screen
  • Go to the “POSTS INCLUDED IN COMBINED CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION-2 (GROUP-II SERVICES) row given in the table
  • Click on the “written exam marks” column given on the right-hand side
  • A new window will appear asking for the register number
  • Enter your register number and submit.
  • Download the marks and rank
  • Take the printout of the marks for the future reference

The Commission released the tentative TNPSC Group 2 answer key on May 27 and the final answer key will be released after the completion of exam process. Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group 2 prelims results limit the number of candidates for the main exam. TNPSC Group 2 Result – Preliminary Exam

The TNPSC Group 2 result for the preliminary exam is declared online only. After the preliminary exam, the TNPSC releases the Group 2 tentative (provisional) answer key and invites objections to the wrong answers. The Commission will release the TNPSC Group 2 cutoff for all the posts and for all the categories. After all the rectification in the provisional answer key, the final answer key is released and the preliminary result follows.

After the main exam, the result is declared and the qualified candidates are called for an oral test at the Commission's office. The main exam is important because the marks secured in the main exam are considered for the final merit list.

TNPSC Group 2 Result - Final

TNPSC declares the TNPSC Group 2 result after the interview stage. The marks secured in the main exam (written) and interview are added up to arrive at the final merit list. After the result declaration, the candidates need to undergo certificate verification related to the claims for the respective category. After the TNPSC Group 2 results, the candidates are called for counselling where the document verification and other important process steps occur. After it the finally selected candidates are appointed by the appointing authority of the respective service.

Q: What is the pass mark for TNPSC Group 2?

A: The passing marks (qualifying marks) are different from the TNPSC Group 2 cutoff. The candidates need to understand that the passing marks are mentioned in the official notification but the cutoff marks are the marks of the last selected candidate in a particular category. The official notification mentions that the minimum qualifying mark for the non-interview posts is 90/300 while it is 102/340 for interview posts (300 plus 40 marks of interview).

Q: What is the cutoff for TNPSC Group 2 2022?

A: The Commission did not release the TNPSC Group 2 cutoff 2022 with the result. As per the media reports, there is litigation pending in the state High Court regarding the reservation of female candidates. The candidates can calculate their marks from the tentative answer key and compare them with the previous year’s cutoff. After such a comparison, the candidates can anticipate their chances of selection . The final answer key will be released after the completion of exam process. 

Q: How to calculate TNPSC Group 2 marks?

A: The candidates can check the official notification to know the calculation method for the TNPSC Group 2 exam. There is no negative marking in the TNPSC Group 2 prelims exam and the candidates are awarded 2 marks for the correct answer.  There is no mention of the negative marking in the official TNPSC Group 2 notification. 

Q: Does Group 2A have interview?

A:  There is no interview for the TNPSC Group 2A. The candidates who opt for the Group 2A posts are not required to appear in the interview phase because their merit list is prepared based on the marks secured in the TNPSC Group 2 main exam only.

Q: Is Group 2 and 2A exam same?

A: No, the TNPSC Group 2 and Group 2A posts are different. Both have different selection procedures. The candidates who opted for Group 2A are not required to appear in the interview stage of examination. The final merit list of the TNPSC Group 2 is prepared based on the marks secured in the Main exam only. 

Q: Does Group 2 have negative marks?

A: There is no mention of the negative marking in the TNPSC Group 2 notification. The candidates can answer some of the questions based on intelligent guessing (based on the passive information about the given options). Negative marking prohibits the candidates from guessing the answers in the exam.

Q: How is TNPSC Group 2 cutoff calculated?
