What is CUET Normalisation 2026?
NTA stated a technique called the "equi-percentile method''. According to NTA,'' In this method, percentile for each candidate is calculated using the raw marks of the candidate as compared to the raw marks of others in the same session. This is done for every session across multiple days for the same subject. These percentiles are then equated and converted into normalised marks. For sessions with a smaller number of candidates, these are clubbed with bigger sessions.''

CUET cut off is based on the percentile of the candidate. To calculate the CUET percentile following formula is applied:
100*Number of candidates appeared in the session with a raw score is equal to or less than a candidate/ total number of candidates appeared for CUET UG.
How are CUET UG Normalised Marks Calculated?
As mentioned above, the equipercentile method is used for all candidates who appeared in different CUET sessions for the same subject to make comparisons across sessions. Here are different steps involved in calculating normalised marks.
Step 1: Calculation of the percentiles of students in each shift using raw marks of multiple shifts
To find the percentile, first the percentile of each group of students is calculated using the raw marks they have scored in each shift.
Step 2: Percentiles are arranged in descending order
In the second step, these percentiles are arranged in descending order by ranking the students' raw marks for each shift.
- P denotes percentile
- Stu denotes sudent
- RM denotes Raw Marks
Step 3: Linear interpolation
Then through the linear interpolation method, marks of students are calculated in the above blanks in the table.
Step 4: Calculation of normalised marks
In the final step, normalised marks for each student are calculated on a common scale.

Why is CUET Normalisation Process Used?
