APAAR ID: What It Is and Why It Matters
The most important change in the application process of MAH MCA CET 2026 is the mandatory rule about APAAR ID and Aadhar updation. Let's check out how it works-
What is APAAR ID?
APAAR stands for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It is a unique 12-digit academic ID assigned to each student and stores and links your academic records digitally. Think of it as a digital academic identity that acts like a lifelong student record.
Why APAAR ID Is Mandatory
In 2026, the Maharashtra CET Cell made APAAR ID mandatory for MAH MCA CET applications. This means:
- You can't complete your CET registration without a valid APAAR ID.
- If you try to proceed without it, the system will block you and you will be redirected to the home page.
The APAAR ID helps in the accurate verification of your academic details. The idea behind making APAAR ID is to make the admission process more transparent, secure and standardised.
How to Generate Your APAAR ID
You can generate your APAAR ID in these ways:
a) Using DigiLocker
Log in to DigiLocker using your Aadhaar number.
Search for “Academic Bank of Credits” (ABC) or APAAR.
Give your consent to link your Aadhaar with APAAR.
Complete the online process and you will be given your APAAR ID.
b) Through the Official ABC Portal: Visit the Academic Bank of Credits portal and follow the steps to register using your Aadhaar.
c) Through Your Institution: Some colleges help their students create an APAAR ID. You can ask your college’s administrative office for help.
5.4 Important Details for APAAR ID
To generate your APAAR ID successfully, you must provide accurate:
- Your Aadhaar number
- Full name (matching official records)
- Date of birth
- Parents’ names
- Mobile number
If any of this information is incorrect or doesn’t match your official certificates (like your Class 10 certificate), you could face problems generating APAAR ID.
Aadhaar Requirements for MAH MCA CET 2026
Along with APAAR ID, your Aadhaar card is also mandatory:
- Your Aadhaar details must be correct and match your Class 10 certificate - including your name and date of birth.
- An active mobile number should be linked to your Aadhaar to receive OTPs
- Your Aadhaar should include your updated address and photo
If there is any mismatch between your Aadhaar and academic records (like different dates of birth or name spellings), you should correct these before applying. Otherwise, the CET portal might stop your registration.
Requirements for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) Candidates
If you are a PwD candidate, you must upload:
- A valid Disability Certificate issued by a competent authority.
- A UDID (Unique Disability ID) card, if available.
- Details of two scribes (if applicable) during registration.
In many cases, a UDID is required not just for the exam, but also for future stages of the admission process.
Common MAH MCA CET 2026 Application Mistakes to Avoid
While applying for the CET, avoid these critical mistakes-
- Aadhaar Mismatch: Ensure names and birthdates on Aadhaar match Class 10 certificates exactly to pass authentication
- Delayed APAAR ID: Generate your 12-digit ID via DigiLocker now. Systems often crash when there is too much load and traffic; this happens mainly near the deadline.
- Mobile Linking: Verify your current mobile number is linked to Aadhaar for mandatory OTP verification
- Category Errors: Double-check reserved category selections; corrections are difficult once the form is submitted
Tips for MAH MCA CET 2026 Aspirants
Here are some practical tips:
- Check eligibility early, know if you meet the academic and marks criteria and avoid any last minute surprises
- Generate APAAR ID well before CET form submission dates.
- Verify your Aadhaar details carefully.
- Have all documents ready (degree marksheets, Aadhaar, APAAR ID).
- Keep your mobile number active for OTPs and communication.
- Read the official information brochure carefully before applying.
