Candidates appearing for the BIT MCA 2026 entrance test need to fulfil the following official eligibility criteria. Candidates must have passed or appeared in any of the following courses

- B.Sc. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics
OR
- B.Sc. in any subject with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at the graduation level
The candidate has to obtain a minimum score of 55% for the general category and 50% marks for the reserved category. Candidates with a B.Sc. Hons. must have a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) marks on average in their Honours subject. Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are also eligible.
