RULET 2026 Preparation Tips

The Rajasthan University Law Entrance Test (RULET) exam will be conducted in a pen-paper based test mode in June 2026 (tentative) for admissions to five-year LLB course. The University of Rajasthan, the exam authority will conduct the examination in the Jaipur test centre for a duration of two hours. A:

Yes, carrying the admit card to the examination hall is important along with a valid ID proof without which candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam.

The admit card for RULET 2026 will be released a few days before the exam, at admissions.univraj.org. Candidates will have to use their login credentials created during the application process to access their hall ticket and download it for the future references. 

Preparation Tips for Legal Reasoning

To prepare for this section, candidates must know the topics to be covered and then make a constructive strategy as under: 

  1. Understand the basic principles and facts of the syllabus.
  2. Make notes on the general topics of Legal section. 
  3. Take help of books and study material to prepare and cover the syllabus.
  4. Go through the previous years question papers to understand and analyse the type of questions asked in the legal section.
  5. Practice the mock tests regularly from the question papers and books.
  6. Do not prepare core or in-depth topics of the legal section, however, prepare the legal GK such as CJIs, courts of India or law reforms in the past year etc. 
  7. Ensure to cover Legal GK around Rajasthan states and the state bar council.

Preparation Tips for General Knowledge

This seems easier section for all and, often candidates take it lightly. However, candidates need to prepare this section with equal importance as it carries the same weightage. Candidates need to gather the books to refer for General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Thereafter, they have to make notes on the recent events, GK topics and the practice the questions. They should ensure practising at least 2-3 topics every day. Also, go through the past years question papers to get an overview of the type of questions.

Preparation Tips for Language Ability

For this section, candidates need to go beyond covering the syllabus by learning new words every day and practising reading skills. They need to read books, practice objective questions and revise in a strategic manner. If the candidate is confused with grammar, tenses, verbs etc, then they should first develop a conceptual understanding with the help of books like Wren & Martin. Candidates should focus on word meaning, usage, synonyms/antonyms/homonyms, phrases/ Idioms, figures of speech and sentence correction/completion for this section. Candidates should ensure taking mock-tests at least 4-5 per week just for this section.

This section can be prepared parallelly with GK and current affairs section. Since most of the topics for this section are similar to the GK section, candidates can prepare for social science and general science with the same preparation plan. The RULET (Rajasthan University Law Entrance Test) exam is generally considered moderate in difficulty. It is a 2-hour offline test comprising 150 multiple-choice questions focusing on Legal Reasoning, English, General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning, with no negative marking.

Based on the exam structure and student feedback, the Legal Reasoning and English Language sections are generally considered the most difficult and high-stakes parts of the RULET exam. They carry the highest weightage (100 marks each) and require in-depth preparation.

CLAT is comparatively more difficult than RULET as the exam is conducted for 25 NLUs in the country and other participating universities. However, RULET is held only for admission to Rajasthan University.

The Rajasthan University will release the cutoff marks of the RULET exam before every counselling round. Candidates must understand that the Rajasthan University Law Entrance Test (RULET) 2026 Cutoff will be released online only. The official website to check RULET Cut-off Marks is uniraj.ac.in.

After the RULET Provisional Answer Key is released, the University will open the objection window. Based on the objections received, the RULET Final Answer Key will be published. The RULET Result will be published based on final answer key.

The exam officials will notify you about the RULET exam marking scheme through the notification. However, examiners are given 2 marks for correct answer and there will be no negative marking.
