NLSAT 2026 syllabus is drafted and designed by the exam conducting body, the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bengaluru, for admission to the 3-Year LL.B. (Hons.) admission test. A thorough understanding of the syllabus will help the candidates prepare for Part A (Objective) and Part B (Descriptive) questions asked in the entrance exam.

NLSAT 2026 syllabus pdf will comprise two parts. NLSAT 3-Year LLB Syllabus 2026: Download PDF

The NLSAT exam will comprise a single-question paper comprising two parts – Parts A and B. It is mandatory to attempt both parts of the NLSAT LLB question paper. The exam will be for a duration of 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes).

NLSAT 3-Year LLB Syllabus: Part A

In the NLSAT LLB syllabus for Part A, candidates will find 75 Multiple-Choice Questions of 1 mark each. Questions on the following topics can be seen in the exam:

NLSAT 3-Year LLB Syllabus: Part B

In Part B of the NLSAT 3-Year LLB exam, candidates will have to answer the subjective questions of 75 marks. Descriptive questions on Legal Aptitude/Reasoning and Analytical Ability will be seen in the question paper. Find out the type of questions to expect in each section:

Legal Aptitude/Reasoning: Questions will be problem-based. Provide short answers in response to such questions. Prior knowledge of the law is not expected to answer these questions
Analytical Ability: Essay topics will be asked in this section to evaluate the knowledge of the issue, the ability provide written arguments on it. The answers will be marked based on the ability of the aspirant to write a well-structured essay.

Q: Is 'Legal Aptitude' section removed from the NLSAT question paper?

As per the NLSAT exam pattern released by the NLSIU, Legal Reasoning remains a part of the question paper along with Quantitative Techniques, English Current Affairs including General Knowledge and Logical Reasoning. If the exam authority decides to remove any of the sections, then it will inform the candidates in admission notification itself, so that candidates can prepare for the exam accordingly.
