Last Minute Prep Tips For JMI Entrance Exam 2023
JMI exam preparation can be done by choosing the right study material and preparation strategy.
Solve sample papers: Since only a few days are left for the entrance exam, so don't read new topics anymore. At this point focus on solving as many sample papers as possible. This will improve your problem-solving skills, give you time to correct your minor errors and point out the topics in which you are making the most mistakes.
Revise: Start revising the notes you have prepared so far. Avoid reading testbooks or readymade preparation material at this time as it will increase your confusion. Instead of reading new topics, focus on the revision. While revising, prepare those topics which you find more difficult and keep easy topics for later.
Jamia Millia Islamia offers admission to a total of four BSc/ BSc (Hons) courses via CUET UG. As per the CUET UG website, students seeking admission to BSc at Jamia Millia must appear for and qualify CUET exam. However, since some universities are also considering other components while giving admission to CUET-UG based courses, it could be a possibility of getting into JMI without CUET.
But, this being said there is no official information on whether the university will only consider CUET UG scores or other components as well for admission, it is tough to give the right answer. Students are therefore advised to reach out to the admission office for more details.

The admission process for BSc or BSc(Hons) course is conducted through the Jamia Millia Islamia entrance test, conducted by the college itself.Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting from 2022, admission to BSc in Biotechnology and BSc (Hons) in Physics will be CUET-based.
Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA must have passed Class 12 or SSC with a minimum aggregate ranging from 40-50%. The passing percentage is different for different specialisations offered in the BA programme. With an annual intake of over 900 students for BA and BA (Hons) programmes (including all the specialisations), admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA and BA (Hons) is subject to either CUET (conducted by NTA) or JMI entrance exam. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting 2022, admission to a few BA (Hons) specialisations is CUET-based and for the rest, it is university-level entrance-based.
Time Management: Whether it is a matter of revision or solving sample papers, it is very important to take care of time management. Prepare your timetable and make sure to solve sample papers in the morning and revise during the day. Apart from this, also observe the mistakes you have made in the sample paper. Follow the same routine again the next day. This will strengthen your grip on all the topics and your preparation will be better.
Stay calm and positive: The pressure of the exam falls equally on every candidate. Everyone feels nervous before the exam, but the one who controls his nervousness on exam day and concentrates on the exam achieves success. Therefore, you must focus only on the preparation with a calm spirit and stay positive. Don't waste time worrying about the result of the exam at this time. Do your preparation with full dedication and clarity of thought.
Eat healthily and sleep well - To keep your mind calm and feel healthy on the day of the exam, you must take a proper diet and get enough sleep. Staying up late at night and not eating properly is not good for your physical and mental health. This will make you feel more tired on the day of the exam and it will affect your performance as well. Hence, give equal importance to your diet and sleep.
Keep important things ready - The JMI admit cards are available to download from April 10 onwards. You must download the admit card, paste a passport-size photograph on the given space and keep a photo ID proof ready for exam day. By keeping the essentials ready, you will not be in any panic on exam day and will reach the JMI exam centre on time. Apart from this, read the instructions given on the admit card properly.
