Mystory@S Ehtisham Musanna: How I chose my course and career path – Challenges and learnings
Since childhood, I was passionate about Mathematics and did well in school and college. However, during mid-nineties MBA started emerging as the leading professional course and I took a decision of dropping conventional topic to the popular one. Today, if given a chance, I would certainly go back to my childhood liking of Mathematics. I would have loved to build my career around this Godly subject and certainly would have been contributing a lot to the nation.
At this stage, I won't call it a wrong choice as I am doing well. I still have a chance to jump into academics. Leaving Mathematics as my first career choice was the mistake since it was evaluated on current scenario of more economically reformed India but that was just short-term and I got carried away.
My career tips are as follows:
1) Choose a profession which is of your liking. For example, if you are good in singing, become a singer. Just ignore the social pressure. At the end of the day success counts.
2) Develop reading habits. Keep your academic interest live till the last breath of your life and sky will be the limit.
3) Be a research scholar in the field of your choice.
