No, cut offs of XAT participating colleges are different from each other. How to Calculate XAT Percentile?

XAT percentile is calculated from the raw score obtained by candidates. The formula to calculate XAT percentile is:

Number of candidates - Rank of a candidate x100
Number of candidates .

Let's understand the XAT percentile formula with an example:

Suppose, 100,000 people appeared for XAT exam and A got the highest raw score. It means 99,999 candidates have scored less than A. Then XAT percentile of candidate A will be 99,999/100,000x100= 99.9.

XAT Marking Scheme 2025

The total marks of XAT is 95 and and candidates will be marked per correct attempt. Let’s take a look at the XAT marking scheme to understand this:

For every correct attempt, 1 mark is awarded
For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks are deducted
After eight consecutive unattempted questions, 0.10 marks are deducted for every unattempted question
There will be no negative marking in General Knowledge section
General Knowledge score will not be counted for XAT percentile calculation

Based on the above marking scheme, if a candidate attempts about 85 questions out of 95, out of which he solves 75 questions correctly and 10 questions incorrectly, then his overall XAT score will be 75 - (1-0.25x10) = 82.5.
