XAT mock test is the main source of exam preparation along with sample questions and other test prep material. The XAT mock test helps candidates in understanding the pattern, difficulty levels, weightage and types of questions. The greatest benefit of the mock test is that it prepares candidates for any type of question that can be asked in the exam. There are a series of unofficial XAT mock tests available online which aspirants can practice from September onwards. XLRI Jamshedpur too provides a mock test to registered candidates to familiarise themselves with the latest exam pattern. However, the official XAT mock test is released only around the exam.

Candidates can solve the mock test on the official website using their XAT 2023 login credentials. Shiksha also provide XAT mock tests for practice, which the aspirants can take for free. Check below key highlights of XAT mock test.

Why Practice XAT Mock Test

XAT mock test is an important aspect of exam preparation. On an average, XAT candidates must attempt at least 25-30 mock tests during their preparation. The ideal time to start XAT mock tests is in the last leg of exam preparation (October-December).

The difficulty level of XAT exam is higher than other MBA entrance exams, so it is important that candidates prepare for it keeping every aspect in mind. Also, since scoring well in XAT exam depends a lot on meeting the sectional cut-off, aspirants must not leave out any topic. To know how well one is doing in terms of XAT syllabus coverage, there is nothing better than a mock test. It is a good source of practice for the actual exam. It also helps in developing the skill of handling the stress of a speed-based test and in learning application of concepts to solve Mathematical questions in QA and DI and Verbal and Logical Reasoning puzzles.

XAT Mock Tests: Key Benefits

Given below are some of the key benefits of practicing XAT mock test:

  • XAT mock test will help in gauging strengths and weaknesses viz the XAT syllabus. Candidates can then alter their XAT preparation to work more on their weak areas.
  • Mock test will help candidates in understanding the XAT exam pattern, test structure, section distribution of questions and difficulty level of questions asked previously.
  • Practicing mock tests will help candidates in gaining confidence in handling tough questions and help them develop ease in tackling pressure in the actual exam.
  • Practising variety of XAT mock tests will expose candidates to all types of questions – tough, easy, lengthy, tricky, etc. so that no question turns out to be a surprise in the exam.
  • Since XAT exam has negative marking, it is extremely important to select the right questions. Practicing mock tests can help candidates in developing the skill of choosing which questions to answer and which ones to skip.

The last three months before XAT exam are crucial for both types of students. Those who have been studying from much before, must complete the syllabus three months before XAT 2023 and dedicate the last three months to practice and revision. As per the XAT 2023 exam pattern, candidates will have to give the test in computer-based mode. Details related to time duration, the number of sections, marking scheme, sectional time limit are mentioned under the exam pattern of XAT 2023. The question paper of XAT 2023 will have four sections namely Verbal & Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and last but not least General Knowledge. Before following and accepting any preparation strategy candidates must have a hard copy of XAT syllabus 2023 in order to know the topics covered under each section. Candidates may get perplexed with regard to the syllabus as XLRI Jamshedpur does not provide any official syllabus of XAT. Thus, making a preparation strategy could get complex when you do not know how to start. Make Base for Each Section - As we know the XAT 2023 paper will be divided into five sections, candidates should make a plan that covers all five sections. The base level for all sections must be strong to have a competitive edge over other candidates who start their preparation late and do not have base knowledge. For Decision Making Section
Quick Thinking and clarity of thoughts are important. Two hours on this section should be invested on a daily basis
Practice questions related to situational decision making, analytical reasoning are asked in this section
For Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation
Try to bring clarity in basic mathematics
Questions from percentage, profit loss, time distance, permutation and combination, polynomials are likely to be asked in this section
For General Knowledge
This section will have the least number of questions, yet plays a major role
Candidates must read newspapers, journals related to geography, invention, dates, Current Affairs on a daily basis
For Verbal & Logical Ability
Analogy-based questions, correction of sentences, RCs are a major part of this section hence emphasis while preparation should be there
In the initial 3 months, have at least 2 hours daily for each section with a break time of 15-30 minutes.

Your XAT 2023 preparation won't take off, unless you are aware what are the key additives and sections in XAT examination, what are the topics on which questions are requested in XAT examination. It's miles like beating about the bush as you will not be able to realize a way to begin XAT practise on line or offline nor it is going to be feasible to accumulate the fine XAT MBA guidance cloth.
2. XAT guidance fabric
Your practise material will include XAT examine material, practise books and cloth from numerous other assets like training centres, on-line material, XAT Mocks taken with the aid of you, among others.
3. Scan the XAT exam sample & Syllabus.
4. Try some XAT Mock tests/preceding test papers to discern out your sturdy and weak subjects.
5. Initially ensure to dedicate at the least 2-3 hours a day for XAT guidance. Hope this helps!
Good Luck!
