XLRI selection process through XAT is based on exam score and academic profile. The XLRI admission process includes Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) that are conducted February in Delhi, Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Bangalore. Since 2020, only PI is being conducted in online mode due to COVID-19 pandemic. However, the XLRI admission process 2023 is expected to be held in older format, i.e. face to face interview.
The XLRI admission process begins with registration for XAT exam. Candidates who clear the XAT exam and meet the admission cut off, are required to fill an online form to express interest in participating in the XLRI selection process - GD/PI. Candidate's academic profile are analysed by the admission panel for shortlisting. Those shortlisted, are invited to participate in the GD/PI round. Final admission is offered to candidates who clear the GD/PI round. The XAT 2023 applications were to be filled online from August 10 to December 11.
The XAT exam 2023 was held on January 8 and the XAT 2023 result was announced on January 28. The XLRI shortlisting process will begin in the first week of February 2023. Read all about XLRI Jamshedpur MBA admissions below.

XLRI Admission Process 2023: Key Highlights
The XLRI selection criteria for PGDM Business Management (BM) and PGDM Human Resource Management (HRM) courses includes academic history and work experience along with XAT scorer, GD and PI. Check key highlights below:
- About 1 lakh students take XAT exam every year for admission to XLRI's PGDM programmes.
- XAT score is accepted by over 1,000 MBA institutes across India for admission.
- XLRI screens candidates for GD-PI on the basis of their XAT percentile basis a minimum XAT cut off fixed for the upcoming MBA/PGDM batch.
- The candidates who clear XAT exam can apply separately to management institutes accepting XAT score for admission.
- Shortlisted candidates have to fill a form to book PI slot on the official website, after which interview calls are made to them.
- Those who fail to update or book the slot in time, will not be called for the interview.
- XAT cut off ranges between 90 to 95 percentile for HRM and BM programmes.

XLRI Selection Procedure Through XAT 2023
XLRI conducts GD/PI to assess the candidate’s communication skills, business knowledge, problem solving skills, leadership quality, personality and other skills/traits required to make it big in the business world. Besides performance in the group discussion and personal interview, XAT 2023 score, relevant work experience, academic background, extra-curricular activities will be taken into consideration while preparing the final list for admission. XLRI Admission: Importance of GD
Group discussion (GD) allows a management aspirant to showcase their leadership qualities as well as logical ability. In the XLRI GD, the candidates are exposed to a hypothetical situation where they have to debate and present their point in a coherent, concise and convincing manner.
XLRI Admission: Importance of PI
Personal Interview or PI is conducted by the XLRI to know the candidate's personality and their area of expertise or interest better as well as assess their communication skills and ability to handle pressure.
How to Book PI Slot for XLRI Admission 2023
Once the course wise XAT cut offs 2023 are released for XLRI admission, candidates will be required to apply for participation in the GD/PI round. For this, they will be required to log on to the XLRI website and specify their choice of interview city. This process is also referred to as 'update interview city'. Dear, do not panic because there is always a way to reach your aim. The cutoff of the CAT was 98 - 100 percentile for the top college. You can expect the college like IIM Visakhapatnam, IIM Shillong.
