XAT 2023 exam centres will be allotted to aspirants by the exam conducting body as per the choice mentioned by them in the application form. XAT 2023 will be conducted at multiple test centres in 79 cities with COVID-19 appropriate guidelines. The XAT 2023 application window is open till November 30 so candidates can fill their test centre preference as per their choice. For XAT 2023, the limit of test city selection will be two.

This selection is to be made carefully in the XAT application form only. Candidates will get to know their allotted XAT exam centre once they download their admit cards after which change of exam city or centre will not be allowed.

How to Select XAT Test Cities

The option to select XAT test cities will be provided on the XAT application form 2023. Check the steps below to select preferred test city:

  • Register for XAT 2023 on the official website: https://xatonline.in/
  • Log in to fill the application form
  • Enter relevant details and move to ‘select test city’ section
  • Select two cities from the list in order of preference
  • Complete filling up of the form
  • Make fee payment and click on submit

Selecting XAT Exam Centres: Important Points

Read below some important points that you must keep in mind while selecting XAT test city in the application form:

  • You will be given the option to choose up to two cities from the given list.
  • Select the XAT test cities in order of preference.
  • Choose your hometown or residence at the time of exam, as first preference.
  • In case, seats are full at a XAT exam centre in the first city of preference, you will be allotted a centre in the second city.
  • The exam authority has the right to change or cancel any XAT test centre.
  • The exam conducting body will have the final say in allotment of XAT exam centres.
  • No request for change will be entertained after the release of XAT admit card.

XAT Exam Centres: Dos and Don’ts

  • Visit the XAT 203 exam centre a day before the exam to know the location and distance from your home. This will help you in assessing how much time it will take to reach the centre on the XAT exam day.
  • Carry two print-outs of the XAT 2023 admit card and an original copy of any ID issued by the Government of India.
  • Reach XAT test centre before reporting time (1:00 PM) on the exam day.
  • Do not try to enter the XAT exam centre before time and without permission.
  • Do not leave the exam hall until asked by the invigilator to vacate it.
  • There will be no provision to keep phones, bags, etc. outside the XAT exam centre don’t carry any such item.

FAQs on XAT Test Centres 2023

Q: In how many cities XAT 2023 exam will be conducted?

A: XAT 2023 will be conducted in about 79 cities across India. The exam will be held at one of more test centres in every city and the centre address will be mentioned on XAT admit card of each candidate.

Q: How many cities can I choose for allotment of XAT exam centre?

A: Candidates can choose up to two cities for allotment of XAT 2023 exam centre. It is advised that candidates must choose their home city as first preference as the examination body tries to allot home centre to the candidates.

Q: Can I change my XAT exam centre after admit card is released?

A: No. Candidates cannot change their XAT exam centre after the admit card is released. They cannot take the exam at any exam centre other than the one allotted to them in the XAT admit card.

Q: How will I know the address of my XAT exam centre?

A: The address of exam centre will be printed on each candidate’s XAT 2023 admit card. The candidates must make arrangement to reach the XAT exam centre on time for a smooth passage of exam day.

Q: I want to change preference of test city in my XAT form. Can I do that?

A: Test city preference can be changed only during XAT form correction period, when the authorities will allow candidates to make changed in their already submitted XAT 2023 application forms.

Q: Will I be allowed to enter the XAT exam centre if I reach after the reporting time?

A: The XAT 2023 exam will commence at 2:00 PM. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the XAT exam centre after 1:30 PM. So they must reach their respective exam centres on the time as mentioned in their admit cards.

Q: What is the reporting time for XAT exam at the test centre?

A: As the XAT 2023 exam commencement time is 2:00 PM, the reporting time for candidates is 1:00 PM. Candidates must reach at their XAT centres on time to complete identification process and other formalities on time.

Q: Which electronic items are not allowed inside XAT exam centre?

A: All types of electronic items including mobile phones, digital watch, iwatch, calculators, ipad, etc. are prohibited at the XAT exam centre. Candidates must not carry them, as there is no provision of depositing bags at exam centres.

Q: Can I carry water inside the XAT exam centre? Will there be any COVID-19 related guidelines for candidates?

A: Yes, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the candidates are allowed to carry personal water bottle inside the exam hall. The candidates also have to follow COVID appropriate behaviour at the the XAT 2023 exam centre including carrying hand sanitizer, wearing a mask, wearing gloves and maintaining physical distance from others.

Q: What are the documents I have to carry to the XAT exam centre?

A: Along with XAT admit card 2023 and PwD certificate, candidates have to carry any one of these documents as a proof of identity - Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Ration Card, Driving License or Voter ID Card

Q: If I am unable to reach the XAT exam centre allotted to me, can I take the exam at another exam centre?

A: No. Candidates cannot take the exam at any centre other than mentioned on their XAT admit card. Even, if they reach any exam centre other than the allotted one, they will not be allowed inside.

1. The XAT is conducted in English in the online mode.
2. The question paper consists of a total of 100 objective questions and one essay question in XAT.
3. The time limit to attempt these questions is 180 minutes, except for the essay question.
4. The essay question is allotted 10 minutes and evaluated at a later stage.
5. Each objective carries one mark and has five options.
6. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong response.
7. Also, there is a negative marking of 0.10 marks for more than eight unattempted consecutive questions in XAT.
8. There are total four sections including Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge
