What is XIC Entrance Test (XET)?
The Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) conducts the XIC Entrance Test (XET) to offer admissions to eligible candidates in mass communication courses available at the institute. Candidates can apply for admission to various postgraduate and certificate courses.

XET 2026 Eligibility Criteria - Who Can Apply?
Before applying for XET 2026, candidates must know the requirements to be eligible for admission at Xavier Institute of Communication. Students who wish to get admission at XIC through the entrance exam can check below to know XET eligibility criteria.
- Candidate must be 35 years or below in age.
- Candidate must have completed 3 years of Graduation (12+3 years) in a university-approved stream in India: (Arts, Commerce, Science, Computers, BMM, BMS, BE, Catering, etc.)
OR - Candidate must be appearing for the last semester or Third-year Graduation in the present academic year.
Note: In the last case, if a candidate is selected for the XIC Course of their choice and he/she complete it in keeping with the Academic, Attendance, and other standards laid down by XIC, the Post Graduate Diploma will be awarded only on completion of their Graduation and on submission of the relevant attested Final mark-sheet of their graduation.
XIC Entrance Test (XET) 2026 Application Process
Xavier's Entrance Test application process is explained in steps mentioned below.
1. Registration
Candidates have to register themselves by clicking on the 'register' on the official website of the university to fill in the application form. Candidates have to ensure that they kept a scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph and any one identity proof (Driving Licence/ Passport/ Aadhar Card) in JPG format with amximum 1MB size ready for uploading before filling in the online registration form. Candidates have to enter following details while filling application form.

After submitting the details, candidates might have received a login ID and password which could use to log in, to avail of the XIC Entrance Test (XET) application forms.
2. Fill XIC Entrance Test (XET) Application Form
Candidates have to fill out the online application forms. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling out and submitting the application forms. Candidates will have to pay their XIC Entrance Test (XET) 2026 application fee online by using their Bank Debit/Credit Card/ Net banking/ UPI. The Registration fee for the XET is INR 2,500/- only (inclusive of GST).
Note: As part of the Registration Process, candidates will have to provide their Statement of Purpose (SOP). If they qualify for the Personal Interview stage, it could be brought up for discussion. Hence, candidates are advised to give sufficient thought while putting their SOP together.
3. Select the date and centre
After completing the payment procedure candidates will have to select their XET date and personal interview center.

XIC Entrance Test (XET) 2026 Admission Process
Xavier Institute of Communication defines the admission process for candidates to get admission to postgraduate and certificate courses through XIC OET. Candidates who are preparing for entrance exam with a dream of getting admission at XIC must check below space to know the process for admissions 2026.
1. Fill XIC Entrance Exam Application Form
Aspiring candidates have to first apply for XIC OET entrance exam by filling and submitting online form. Only candidates who will successfully submit their XET application form will be able to appear for entrance exam. The application schedule has been released by Xavier Institute of Communication for 2026-27 admission cycle. Candidates can apply for XET 2026 from March 01 to March 31, 2026 at official website.
2. Download XIC Entrance Test Admit Card
The XIC Entrance Test (XET) 2026 admit card will be sent to candidates using the E-mail ID mentioned in their registration form. Candidate were advised to check their Junk/ Spam Email Folders in case they do not receive the admit card after the registration procedure. Candidates had to preserve their admit card carefully as only this document was accepted in all further transactions between a candidate and XIC.
3. Appear for XIC Entrance Test (XET)
Candidates have to appear for the Xavier Institute of Communications Online Entrance Test at their preferred date. The XIC Entrance Test (XET) duration is 60 minutes and includes both objective and subjective questions. Candidates will get the login details and password, 10 minutes before the examination.
The XET online test is scheduled for April 12, April 18 and April 19, 2026.
4. Appear for Personal Interview
Based on a candidate's score on the online test and subjective paper, they will be called for a Zoom interview. XET Zoom Interview will be administered from April 24 to April 26, 2026. Details for the interview will be sent to the candidate's registered email address.
5. Check XIC Entrance Test (XET) Result
Selections will be based on the candidate's scores in the online test and personal interview. Aspirants can check their XET results on the official website of the Xavier Institute of Communications.
6. Appear for XET Counselling
Candidates with their names in XIC OET result have to appear for XIC OET counselling to secure seat for their desired course. Selected students must bring following documents with them for counselling round.

XIC Entrance Test 2026 Syllabus
The XIC Entrance Test 2026 syllabus has been released by Xavier's Institute of Communication on its official website. According to XIC, the XET 2026 question paper includes two sections - Objective and Subjective.
Objective: This section will include questions related to Language Skills, General Knowledge, Knowledge of Media, and Logical & Analytical Skills.
Subjective: This section will include four questions related to media to assess the creativity, social values, writing skills, etc., of the candidates. Some questions will also be related to the course a candidate is applying for.
Note - For subjective section, the institute forbids candidates from using unnecessary abbreviations or SMS language. If a candidate still uses such language, their answer will not be assessed.
Exam Pattern for XIC Entrance Exam 2026
The Xavier's Institute of Communications prescribes the XIC Entrance Test 2026 pattern. As per exam pattern, candidates applying for XET exam have to attempt multiple choice questions in 30 minutes and subjective questions in 30 minutes. The candidates will get the password and login details to appear for the exam via email, 10 minutes before the exam time.
