As per admission process of FTII JET entrance exam, candidates who wish to get admission at this institute have to appear for 2 stages. Students who are selected in first stage can take Stage 2 exam. After both stages are over, selected candidates are called for further admission process, including interview, counselling and medical test. There is no word limit for the answers of descriptive and subjective questions on FTII JET test paper. However, the paper has empty line space in which examinees have to write their answers. Also, while some descriptive questions are mandatory to attempt, some have choices. Examinees can pick and choose questions that they want to answer.

The Film and Television of Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) is conducted in offline i.e. pen and paper mode.
