Given below is the criteria followed by RIEs for the selection procedure.
- 60% from entrance examination and 40% from our definitions of aggregate scores for BSc BEd/ BA BEd/ MSc Ed/ BEd/MEd.
- There will be separate definitions to calculate the aggregate scores for BSc BEd and MSc Ed; For BA BEd; For BEd and for MEd. The details are given in the following article under the 'Aggregate Score Definition' header.
- In case of ties, it will be decided by the scores of the Teaching Aptitude Test. After that, if the tie continues, then it will be decided based on age
- The merit list will only consider three digits after the decimal with rounding off
- As per the official prospectus, RIEs will provide one seat for each course BSc BEd, and BA BEd, and RIE Mysore will also provide one seat for each course of MSc Ed. (Physics, Chemistry, and Math) over and above the regular quota for NTSE awardees.
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam up to two years back, i.e., in the year 2024, 2025, and appearing/ appeared in 2026 can apply BSc BEd/ BA BEd/ MSc Ed. There is no restriction on the passing year to apply in BEd and MEd

Aggregate Score Definition for RIE CEE Exam
As per the official website, given below are the proper meanings for the scores as per the programmes:
- For BSc BEd and MScEd: Obtained marks of PCM or PCB out of the maximum marks of PCM/PCB in the qualifying examination.
- For BA BEd obtained total marks of the qualifying examination out of the maximum marks of the qualifying examination.
- For BEd obtained total marks of qualifying degree examination out of the maximum marks of the qualifying degree examination
- For MEd obtained total marks of qualifying examination out of the maximum marks of the qualifying examination. If the qualifying examination is BSc Ed/BSc BEd/BA Ed/BA BEd. Only the obtained total marks of professional components (BEd) out of the maximum marks in these components.
What After RIE CEE Result 20256
After the result, the RIE CEE Counselling process will be held. The RIE CEE Counselling schedule is yet to be announced by the exam conducting body on the official website of the exam. All the qualifying candidates are allotted seats in their respective courses through RIE CEE counselling. Counselling for admission to all courses (BSc BEd, BA BEd, MSc Ed, BEd, MEd, and integrated BEd MEd) is conducted at the respective RIEs.
What Happens in RIE CEE Counselling after Result Declaration?
Candidates who have cleared the RIE CEE exam will be eligible for the counselling process. Every Regional Institute of Education releases a list of waiting and shortlisted students for various courses. Based on the schedule, the candidates have to report to the campus with their documents and the fees to confirm the admission. The round is conducted till the seats are filled.

Candidates applying under these categories for RIE CEE 2026 counselling and admissions must provide valid certificates issued by the competent authority in the Government of India–approved format. OBC candidates specifically need to submit a certificate confirming that they do not belong to the Creamy Layer.

Final admission depends on the official 12th mark sheet after results are announced.
