What is RIE CEE?
NCERT conducts a common entrance examination for candidates seeking admission to its teacher education programmes. These programmes are offered at Prarambh and the Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs) in Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysuru, and Shillong. RIE CEE 2026 Counselling
RIE CEE counselling is conducted within a week or two after the result declaration. Qualified candidates have to participate in the online counselling process, fill in their preferred institutes and courses, and complete document verification.
RIE CEE Counselling Process
Candidates need to complete the following steps:
- Online counselling registration.
- Choice filling for institutes and programmes.
- Seat allotment based on merit.
- Document verification.
- Payment of admission fee.
- Reporting to allotted Regional Institute of Education.
Documents Required for the RIE CEE Counselling
Listed below are the important documents.
- Printout of the Application form and Score card/ result sheet of CEE 2026
- Original Marks cards of Class X and XII classes
- Domicile Certificate / Residential Certificate C
- Caste Certificate issued by the Competent Authority from the Domicile State (in case of SC/ST students).

RIE CEE Exam Reservation Policy
As per the Government of India rules, candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. The following reservations are available:
- SC 15%
- ST 7.5%
- OBC 27%
- PwD 5%
- EWS 10%

RIE CEE Result 2026 has been released online on its result portal. Candidates can download their results by logging in with their registered details. A direct link to check RIE CEE result will also be available on this page once released.

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Sc.Ed. (Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics) programme must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) at the Class 12 level. In this context, Mathematics may be replaced by Statistics where applicable. Applicants must have passed the +2/Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary examination or an equivalent qualification recognised by a board or university with at least 50% aggregate marks. A relaxation of 5% in the minimum qualifying marks is available to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. The qualifying examination must be recognised by University of Mysore, the affiliating university of Regional Institute of Education Mysore. Only candidates who passed their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2024 or 2025, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply for the programme.

General candidates often need 60-70% marks (or higher in RIE CEE) and OBC/SC/ST candidates need progressively lower marks.

No, you can't change the allotted RIE after admission. Try to choose carefully during choice-filling round.
A score of 160 is the maximum possible score in the RIE CEE entrance exam. If you have scored 160 then you can get admission in your dream institute.
Candidates will be able to fill the RIE CEE application form 2027 through the website only at cee.ncert.gov.in.
