RIE CEE Criteria for Calculating Scores/ Results

Given below is the criteria followed by RIEs for the selection procedure.

• 60% from entrance examination and 40% from our definitions of aggregate scores for B.Sc.B.Ed./ B.A.B.Ed./ M.Sc.Ed./ B.Ed./M.Ed.
• There will be separate definitions to calculate the aggregate scores for B.Sc. B.Ed and M.Sc.Ed; For B.A. B.Ed; For B.Ed and For M.Ed. The details are given in the following article under the 'Aggregate Score Definition' header.
• In case of ties, it will be decided by the scores of the Teaching Aptitude Test. After that, if the tie continues, then it will be decided on the basis of age
• The merit list will only consider three digits after the decimal with rounding off
• As per the official prospectus, RIEs will provide one seat for each course B.Sc.B.Ed and B.A.B.Ed, and RIE Mysore will also provide one seat for each course of M.Sc.Ed. (Physics, Chemistry and Math) over and above the regular quota for NTSE awardees.
• Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam up to two years back i.e., in the year 2019, 2020 and appearing/ appeared in 2025 can apply B.Sc.B.Ed./ B.A.B.Ed./ M.Sc.Ed. There is no restriction in the passing year to apply in B.Ed. and M.Ed

Aggregate Score Definition for RIE CEE Exam

As per the official website, given below are the proper meanings for the scores as per the programmes:

• For B.Sc.B.Ed. and M.Sc.Ed.: Obtained marks of PCM or PCB out of the maximum marks of PCM/PCB in qualifying examination.
• For B.A. B.Ed. obtained total marks of qualifying examination out of the maximum marks of the qualifying examination.
• For B.Ed. obtained total marks of qualifying degree examination out of the maximum marks of qualifying degree examination
• For M.Ed. obtained total marks of qualifying examination out of the maximum marks of qualifying examination. If the qualifying examination is B.Sc.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed/B.A.Ed./B.A.B.Ed. Only the obtained total marks of professional components (B.Ed.) out of the maximum marks in these components.

What to Expect Next

• Official cut-offs will be published along with selection lists and merit lists on the official NCERT/RIE portals once the RIE CEE 2025 results are declared.

• After the results, institutions will share category- and state-wise cut-off lists relevant to each programme.

After the result, the RIE CEE Counselling process will be held. RIE CEE Counselling schedule is yet to be announced by the exam conducting body on the official website of the exam. All the qualifying candidates are allotted seats in their respective courses through RIE CEE counselling. The counselling for admission in all courses (BSc BEd, BA BEd, MSc Ed, BEd, MEd and integrated BEd MEd) is done at respective RIEs. As per the Government of India norms, the RIE CEE 2025 results and admission process will follow the reservation policy for candidates belonging to specific categories. Seats are reserved with relaxed eligibility criteria for the following categories:

• SC (Scheduled Caste): 15%

• ST (Scheduled Tribe): 7.5%

• OBC (Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer): 27%

• PwD (Persons with Disabilities): 5%

• EWS (Economically Weaker Section): 10%

Candidates applying under these categories for RIE CEE 2025 counselling and admissions must provide valid certificates issued by the competent authority in the Government of India–approved format. OBC candidates specifically need to submit a certificate confirming that they do not belong to the Creamy Layer.

• For the Hyderabad-Karnataka reservation under the Karnataka quota, the required data will be captured and forwarded to RIE Mysuru for processing.

• Special provisions are available:

  • Each RIE will provide one supernumerary seat in the BSc BEd and BA BEd courses.

  • RIE Mysuru will also provide one additional seat each in MSc Ed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

  • RIE Bhopal will allot one additional seat in the BEd MEd integrated course.

  • These seats are reserved for NTSE awardees and Tibetan candidates, who must still appear for the RIE CEE 2025 entrance exam to be considered.
