AKTU MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
Uttar Pradesh Technical University offers a two-year MTech programme under 19 specialisations. For seeking admission to the programme, candidates need to possess a valid UPSEE rank (now CUET PG). GATE-qualified candidates are also considered for AKTU MTech admission. However, such candidates first need to undergo a counselling process along with UPSEE-qualified candidates for seat allotment. Yes, candidates seeking admission to DR. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University undergraduate and postgraduate courses must have appeared for the CUET-UG and CUET-PG entrance exams, respectively. AKTU will not admit students who do not a valid CUET score. NTA usually releases CUET result in July. CUET UG Counselling is held and conducted separately by the participating institutes. CUET UG Counselling is usually held between Jul and Aug.

AKTU is a state-level, public collegiate university. Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), it is a University of National Importance, specially for the UG and PG courses offered in the field of Engineering and Science. AKTU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Coming to the AKTU placements, the university has not released the placement report for the year 2023. However, as per media reports, 1,531 students were selected in TCS. A total of 318 students were placed with a package of INR 7.60 LPA in TCS Digital and rest 1,213 students were placed with a package of INR 3.60 LPA in TCS Ninja during AKTU placement 2023.
AKTU offers scholarship assistance to students belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC category under the regulations of the UP State Scholarship scheme. Every year, UP State releases a notification for fee reimbursement for the students of AKTU and its affiliated colleges. Students studying in AKTU can register themselves for fee-waiver scholarship schemes through the Scholarship & Fee Reimbursement Online System of UP State. DR. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University is expected to conduct a total of six rounds for CUET-UG-qualified candidates. However, the cutoff rounds are conducted as per seat availability. If seats are available after AKTU round six of the counselling process, the University will release the special round to fulfil their vacant seats.
Aspirants need to pay an application fee to apply for CUET for AKTU admission. Candidates need to pay fee via any of the online payment modes. Below is the application fee for CUET:

After the JEE Main session 2 result announced, candidates need to first head on to official JEE Main website to know the performance in terms of rank and marks on the portal. You further need to download the scorecard to assess your performance. The needed details to log in are application number and birth date. Apart checking scorecard and rank, they need to check out their qualifying status. Based on your results, you then have to make up your mind to prepare for JEE Advanced or not to get into the IITs. Moreover, the candidates who qualify the JEE Main exam will be allowed to sit for the counselling rounds of NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutes. While applying for the counselling, candidates must have to ensure that all the necessary documents are ready to be submitted. And, at last they have to regularly check and track the important dates regarding the counselling rounds or JEE Advanced exam timeline to avoid any rush at the end of a counselling round.
AKTU releases its cutoff through its affiliated colleges. The last round closing scores for different colleges varied between 435 and 17104 if you belong to the General AI category. Therefore, it is possible to get admission at any affiliated college of the university at 20000 rank. The top colleges could be Fort Institute of Technology, R. D. Engineering College Technical Campus and Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management, with the last round closing score of 17104, 16842 and 16384, respectively.

Admissions to the different Faculty of Architecture and Planning AKTU programmes are conducted through national level entrance exams such as such as NATA, JEE Main, UPTAC, CUET, etc. Students must register and appear for these entrance exams after they meet the course requirements. Then choose FOAP

No, Faculty of Architecture and Planning AKTU does have an offline mode of application with the only mode to apply being online. Students are able to apply through the institute page as long as they complete the eligibility as set by the institute.
