B.Tech. in Computer Engineering - Batch of 2029
Offered by Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University
4.2
ZHCET, AMU - A college with pace in it.
Placements: I'm in the first year of computer engineering. Last year, 37 students out of 55 got placed, i.e., 67%. The average salary is 7.8 LPA, and the highest salary is 16.2 LPA. Top recruiting companies are MS Instaview AI-Bengaluru, MS Cloud Nebula Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow, MS Green Torque-Kuwait, MS LTI Mindtree limited-Mumbai, and many others. Not sure, but around 40% of eligible students got an internship in their 3rd year of undergraduate studies, and the companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, etc. Top roles are software development, web developer, data analyst, technical support engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Most of the facilities are provided by the college, like reading room access or the library, into which the student can go after the classes, and most of the classes, including mine, are smart classes. Sports facilities are also very good. There are proper programme for sports named Uqaab in the hostel for the players. Mess food is also good at a low price. Canteen food and beverages are so affordable and tasty. There are proper reading or common rooms even in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are good enough to teach you any of the topics related to the syllabus or beyond the syllabus. Curriculum is fine, it opens your mind, which helps to get ready for the industry. Semester exams are not that hard. Passing is not hard, just study core concepts, and it is all set.
Other: I have been interested in this course since my school days. Everything is fine as per me till now. Scholarships are also given to students. Connection issue is seen there, especially in the Jio or Vi network.

Good college with good infrastructure and facilities of AMU.
Placements: In branches like Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, almost 70-80 per cent of students get placed in decent companies at decent packages of 6 to 18 LPA. The average is 7-8 LPA, while the median is also approximately the same, around 8-10 LPA. In other branches like Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics, the placement ratio is 60-70 per cent, and the average is 6-8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are good enough. Classrooms also have smart boards. Labs are fully working, and everything needed for experiments or project work is available. Wi-Fi works properly with high speed in hostels, but is a little weak in college. The college has its own book bank where students can take books and read in the reading lawn. Reading rooms are also available in all hostels. Maulana Azad Library is one of the largest libraries in Asia, just 2-3 hundred meters from the college.
Faculty: The curriculum is like that of other Indian engineering colleges. I can say it is good enough and far better than some private and almost every college of AKTU. I learned an interesting thing: if a student focuses on skills along with academics (no matter if average or good), the chances of being placed increase drastically. This year (2025-26), some Electronics and Automobile students are placed for teaching roles, as usual, every year.

A good college with decent placements and nominal fees.
Placements: A good percentage of students were placed this year and last year too. The highest package in B.Tech AI was 18 LPA, and the average package was 8 LPA. The top roles in doing B. Tech in artificial intelligence are AI ML engineers or data enthusiasts, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus is equipped with full network Wi-Fi coverage, and it is very widespread. The classrooms are equipped with high-quality labs. The hostels are very good and large in size, and are based on an old style. We have various games to play, like table tennis, chess, carrom, hockey, cricket, football, and there is a swimming pool in which we can dive.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They help the students focus on their studies, and they give appropriate answers to students who are confused about the syllabus. Teachers are accessible on WhatsApp, and we can contact them easily and ask any doubts.

I must have risen by saying my college is like a normal, average college and eco-friendly.
Placements: 60 to 70% of students get placed in my college. The highest package is 18 LPA, the lowest package is 2 LPA, and the average package is about 9 LPA. TCS, Wipro, and some other famous companies come to our college. The top recruit company is TCS. About 50% students get internships. AI data structure design is the top role offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are average, they are like normal classes. Ice cream on the front of the table, which is in normal structure without AC. Wi-Fi, lab, classrooms, and library all exist in our college, so there is no problem regarding that, but it is not the type of college. The hostel is good, but it is not awarded for everyone because the rooms are limited. The food quality of the mess is great, we get good food that you like very much. There are medical personnel participating.
Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable and qualified, but whatever they taught in our class, I never got it. They are a little bit helpful, but not caring, because they are professors. There is strict attendance in our college. Most teachers are good at their subjects, but some classes are harder to follow. Our semester exams are tough, and they are held at the college examination center. Usually, about 82 to 85 percent of students pass.
Other: I chose this course because there is a future in this course, and the best thing about this course is that it is emerging in the market, and I don't think it will end very soon. There is nothing to improve. There are many alumni in different places to go, which is very helpful for us to apply anywhere.

Placements: 75% of students got placed in computer engineering branch. 16,00,000 LPA is the highest package, 8 LPA is the average package, and 6 LPA is the lowest package. Recruiting companies are Infosys, Samsung, TCS, etc. All the students got internships in British Petroleum and other companies. Software engineer is the role offered.
Infrastructure: All the amenities are available for students at the lowest hostel fee. Free Wi-Fi, library book bank, and reading room for studying are available. Food is decent not much delicious. Canteen and sports facilities are available. The medical health centre and JNMC hospital provided free of cost.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified and very experienced. Teacher quality is intellectual to each faculty. Curriculum is relevant but for skill purposes, its not relevant. Students can be ready for industrial training. Semester exams are too easy to get good marks.

Top roles offered are graduate engineer trainee, design/CAD engineer, production & quality engineer, maintenance/plant engineer, and a few technical analyst profiles in IT.
Infrastructure: Mechanical Engineering Department at ZHCET, AMU offers spacious classrooms with projectors, Wi-Fi, and well-equipped labs for Heat Transfers, Fluid Mechanics, IC Engines, CAD/CAM, and Materials Testing, supported by licensed software like AutoCAD and ANSYS. Students have access to both a departmental library and the Maulana Azad Library with rich e-resources, hostels provide twin-sharing rooms, study furniture, and routine maintenance, the mess serves affordable north-Indian and Mughlai meals, with canteens for snacks, the AMU Health Centre ensures round-the-clock medical support, sports facilities include playgrounds, courts, gymnasium, and indoor arena, creating a balanced environment for academic work, research, recreation, and overall student well-being.
Faculty: Faculty in Mechanical Engineering at ZHCET, AMU are generally well-qualified (most hold M.Tech or Ph.D.) and approachable, offering guidance in labs, projects, and career planning, teaching quality is moderately good, combining lectures with practical sessions, though some classes still follow traditional methods, the curriculum aligns with core mechanical fundamentals and includes design, thermal, and CAD courses, with moderate exposure to industry software and internships, adequate, but could include more recent trends. Semester exams are of moderate difficult if one follows lectures and lab work regularly. The pass percentage typically stays above 85–90%, making overall academic pressure manageable with consistent study.
Other: I chose this course because Mechanical Engineering gives a broad technical foundation: design, thermals, manufacturing, and materials, ZHCET has a strong heritage and alumni network. The best aspects are the experienced faculty, well-equipped laboratories, access to Maulana Azad Library, green campus, and diverse peer group, which together make learning engaging, areas for improvement include more exposure to cutting-edge tools (automation, additive manufacturing), stronger industry linkage, structured internships, and updated electives reflecting emerging technologies.
