IIITM Gwalior MTech is a two-year postgraduate degree programme divided into four semesters and offered full-time. The basic eligibility criteria required by the institute to get admission to MTech at IIITM Gwalior is candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% aggregate in BTech degrees (or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale) for Gen/ EWS/ OBC-NCL whereas 55% marks (or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale) for SC/ ST/ PwD in the qualifying degree aggregate of all semesters/years. IIITM Gwalior MTech course admission is based on the GATE, followed by CCMT counselling. Candidates must have a valid GATE score for admission. The tuition fee for a two-year M.Tech ranges from NR 2.4 Lacs to INR 7.9 lakh. Apart from this, the total fee includes components such as hotel fee (if applicable), caution deposit, and other amounts to be paid at the time of admission. Candidates have to submit the compulsory fee at the time of admission to confirm their seats.

IIITM Gwalior offers a two-year M.Tech course at the postgraduate level. IIITM Gwalior admission to the MTech course usually starts in the month of March-April after the GATE exam result declaration. The final selection is based on the GATE scores followed by CCMT counselling. The centralised CCMT counselling process for offering admission to M.Tech is done through online mode. Selected candidates have to further report at the institute to complete formalities for admission confirmation.
The eligibility criteria to get admission into MTech courses at IIITM Gwalior is candidares must have completed their BTech degree or equivalent with a minimum aggregate 60% marks (or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale) for Gen/ EWS/ OBC-NCL whereas 55% marks (or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale) for SC/ ST/ PwD. Furthermore, GATE and CCMT are the entrance exam and counselling process that are accepted for admission to IIITM Gwalior M.Tech courses.
Securing 60% in a BTech/BE degree in a relevant specialisation is the minimum eligibility criteria that IIITM Gwalior requires for admissions to M.Tech courses. This does not specify that candidates with 60% scores can get admission to M.Tech courses because applicants must meet several eligibility conditions. One of the most crucial requirements for potential applicants is a legitimate GATE score.
After getting a PG degree in M.Tech from IIITM Gwalior, students can become Electronics and Communication Engineer, Researcher, Production Engineer, etc. Candidates with a M.Tech degree can easily get a job in almost all the sectors in India. Yes, IIITM Gwalior does offer stipends to M.Tech students. This is a four-semester programme ideally completed in two years. Candidates pursuing an M.Tech degree are entitled to a monthly stipend of INR 12,400 as per Ministry of Education, Govt. of India norms and subject to fulfilling academic requirements as set by ABV-IIITM from time to time. Hence, candidates can get the stipend by pursuing M.Tech courses, but they need to qualify for certain eligibility criteria to receive the allocated amount.
GATE exam is conducted only once a year to offer admissions to master's and PhD programs at top institutions, such as IITs and NITs. Qualifying GATE exam also paves the way for technical jobs in PSUs. This year, IIT Roorkee is conducting the GATE 2025 exam on Feb 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025 in two sessions - morning and afternoon.
Currently, IIITM Gwalior has not released the academic calendar for the 2025 batch of M.Tech courses. However, according to the previous batch, the classes for the M.Tech course commenced in the last week of July and for some courses it started in the last week of August. Hence, candidates can anticipate that the MTech classes for this year can fall on similar dates from the previous batch.
