Q:   Can I apply for BTech at BIT Mesra without JEE Main score?
A: 

The technology institute admits candidates to BTech courses based on merit in the JEE Main exam. There is no other provision for admission. Candidates shortlisted based on exam scores must also participate in the JoSAA counselling round for seat allotment. In case the seats are left vacant after JoSAA counselling, then those are filled through CSAB counselling. This is the only criteria for admission. Candidates can contact the BIT Mesra admission office to check for direct admissions.

Placements: A Training and Placement cell is available for students, and it conducts a campus placement programme for good salary packages. Top recruiters on our campus are Teach Mahindra, Cognizant, Reliance, and Axis Bank. Our college has a good reputation and is good in terms of salary packages and job profiles.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, it has the best facilities that are provided. There is an auditorium named GP Birla Auditorium where around 2500 students can be accommodated. Apart from this, there is a drawing room, boardroom, activity hall, design hall, and a music room as well.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and experienced in their domains. They use different teaching methods like PPTs, group discussion methods, and debate styles. One must qualify for JEE Main to get admission into this college. The cutoffs are high as it is one of the top colleges for engineering.

My experience of Birla College.
Placements: Our college offers placements. The average package is around 10 LPA and the highest package is said to be more than 16 LPA. There is an entire placement procedure where eligibility is considered, tests are taken, and interviews are conducted further to select students. Top recruiters are Infosys, Wipro, and TCS.
Infrastructure: There are around 10 smart classrooms with AC. We have modern teaching facilities. There is also a mini auditorium. Other than all these, there is a drawing hall, boardroom, salon, and a stationery shop. Our college provides a central library of 3 floors for students to learn.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive and helpful. They make concepts so easy to understand. They provide resources during exams to score good marks. They also solve our doubts. They guide us in solving real-life issues. They are strict sometimes towards students who are difficult to handle.

Review for BIT Mesra, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Placements: The placements are good. Decent companies are coming, and if you are good at practical work and maintain a decent CGPA, then you can get into a good company with a decent package. Also, last year the highest package was 1.45 crore per annum. The average package for CSE is 18 LPA-20 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel infra is decent, but for Wi-Fi, the LAN system is there. The college life is decent, and the campus is very large, with more than 800 acres, with forests and waterfalls surrounding it. The hostel life is also good here, with good infrastructure and facilities you can enjoy.
Faculty: The faculty is good, and the level of exams is decent. The teacher's explanation is good, and they make you prepare for the placement. Exams are of a good level to make you prepare. Practical knowledge is prioritised with good teaching and working on real projects.

BIT Mesra has the most beautiful campus.
Placements: BIT Mesra placements are superb, but for our branch, Chemical Engineering, they are quite low. The batch is small, and yet only 30–40 students find proper core placements, which is the sad part of our course. Many organic and chemical companies come for recruitment, but with very small requirements for our branch. For the rest of the branches, though, placements at BIT Mesra are excellent.
Infrastructure: Rivers, trees, and nature are what surround our campus. Our college has 14 hostels, including boys' and girls' hostels. The college hostels are quite decent. The gates and boundaries of the girls' hostels are such that they ensure proper security. The mess is indeed expensive, and our college campus has a grocery store too, to cater to the basic needs of the students. Our campus has vending machines, a shopping complex, and a night canteen too.
Faculty: Faculty is helpful, supportive, and friendly. These are the basic qualities of our faculty members, besides being doctorates. They also provide us with online study material and help us in every possible way. They also help us in exploring various career opportunities.
Other: We also have two fests, which are technical and cultural fests. Bitotsav is our cultural fest, while Pantheon is our tech fest.

Good professors and best crowd. Above-average placements although fees are higher.
Placements: For tech branches like CSE, AIML, and MnC, placements have been good this year. The lowest package offered so far is 4.8 LPA. The highest is 68 LPA. For other branches, I would say the placements were decent, not the best. The average is around 10 LPA combined for all branches. Also circuital branches have seen a drop in both average package and placement percentage, so only choose them if you are interested in studying circuital.
Infrastructure: Hostels are bad, like really bad. Although the classrooms and main academic building are good, and the campus and sports complex are good too. They could've still done better with hostel rooms and not cramming 2 people into a single-occupancy room. Could've also done with better toilets and better utilization of the massive campus, as some hostels are very far away from the main academic building.
Faculty: Teachers in every college are more or less similar. Professors here are helpful indeed, and what they are good at is making connections. If you stay good in class, get good marks, and impress the professor, he has great connections to send you to summer internships at IITs and IISc. All you have to do is be attentive in class and follow the professor. Exams are decent and are relatively graded instead of a percentage-based system. The course is good, although the 1st year might feel a bit unrelated to your course.
Other: Chill professors, grading is strict to an extent.

College is good, you can go with it.
Placements: 95 percent of students got placed this year. The top packages are 1.45 crore per annum and 1.09 crore per annum. The average package is 15 LPA- 18 LPA. The placements in the college are decent, with top recruiters including Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Google. Top roles are SDE and also some core engineering.
Infrastructure: Talking about the infrastructure, the college is very old. Hence the buildings that were made at the start are still in use. The infrastructure is not so good but the classrooms are well maintained with modern interiors. About the hostel, it is fine to use.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and have graduated from the top universities all around the world, such as IIT's, MIT, and many prestigious institutions. Some of the teachers are very helpful but some don't care. The institution's examinations are really tough.
Other: The EEE branch in which I'm currently enrolled is a good branch in terms of placements and also in terms of future opportunities. If you can, you should go with the college and the branch.
