It has great campus life and great placements.

Placements: Placements are quite good in BIT Mesra. More than 90% of students get placed each year. The rest of students go for higher studies. The highest package offered is 54 LPA for two students. More than 200 companies visited the college for the 2024 placements season. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Atlassian, Amazon, Visa, Nvidia, etc., visit the college for placements. Top recruiters of the Production and Industrial Engineering branch are Tata Steel, Flipkart, Amazon, and Jindal Steel. The top role offered is supply chain manager.

Infrastructure: Laboratories have state-of-the-art infrastructure, which includes a Zeiss electronic microscope, MIG TIG, NMR spectroscope, NDTs, 3D printers, and various other machines and equipment that help in our course. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled including our labs and all hostels. Every hostel room is provided with an access point. The food served in the hostel is quite decent. But there is a table tennis and a badminton court in every hostel. Hostel life is quite good.

Faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable and helpful, They are ready to help us with our ideas and help us to be able to execute such ideas. Classes are fun and easygoing. The course structure is up to date with recent trends and future-proof. It also includes industrial training and hands-on experience. Semester exams are moderately difficult. Many students pass with good scores.

Other: I chose this course because it teaches supply chain management and makes students future-ready. I also chose this course because of my JEE rank.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty, as it's too aggressive and strict.

Placements: The percentage of placement in my college varies according to branches, but in my branch (production), it's around 70%. The highest placement offer was 18 LPA, the average was 10.8 LPA, and the median package is 9.2 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Tata, Infosys, and others.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available in the course are good and well maintained. The hostel facility is average, and the quality of food in the mess varies according to the day. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's average. Medical facilities are very good, and sports facilities are also good.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, but they are very strict and aggressive in nature. However, they complete the syllabus on time by taking extra classes. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and prepares students well. The semester exam in my college is moderate, and around 85% of students pass every year.

Other: Because of my rank, this course is the only one available, and the best thing about my course is that it includes industrial work, which I love. I think some AI parts could be included in this course to improve it. Many events are organized in my college, and the campus has a huge crowd.

The college has a good reputation and a great place to be in.

Placements: As I am in my first year, I do not know much about the placements but I am sure that the college has nice placements. As far as I have heard from my seniors and relatives who have studied here, the placements are good. Good companies visit the campus and offer handsome packages.

Infrastructure: The food is good but the rooms are not big enough to occupy two people. The hostel includes a cycle parking room where you can park your cycle, an entertainment room with a television, table tennis boards, carrom boards, etc. All the floors have a sufficient number of well-cleaned washrooms and at least one water dispenser. Medical facilities are provided round the clock.

Faculty: The faculty is top notch and the exams are held under a very strict standard. The semester is 5 months with some kind of test/exam being held every month. Labs get a little hectic. One needs to catch up with what the faculty is teaching in order to do well in exams as most of the questions are discussed in class.

Other: You will get a good college life that's for sure. Your placement depends on you, obviously. But good companies visit the campus for sure.

BIT Mesra- A close look!

Placements: After the 6th semester of B.Tech, the students are eligible for campus placements. Various companies visit to the campus such as MICROSOFT, BYJUS, ACCENTURE, TCS, TATA GROUP, WALMART, PWC, AMAZON, WIPRO, SAMSUNG, etc. And various offers are made to them which differ company wise. I Usually the average salary stands for CSE at 19lpa. , the highest rose upto 53lpa. These profiles are being at teach roles. Almost 85-95% gets placed. As for my plans after getting degree, my plan is for higher studies and further.

Infrastructure: There is a big well maintained AC with 24x7 Wi-Fi equipped library present in the campus where a wide variety of books and journals are present. Also a digital library is present. Classrooms are well AC furnished and also Wi-Fi facility is provided and big size smartboards and the wider space of classroom is available with more than 200 students capacity. The sports facility is another excellent edge on the corners of the campus, a big playground is available where all games can be played with a sports complex where indoor games can also be.

Faculty: The curriculum set by the department of coordinator of BIT MESRA is truly excellent. They always try to teach those concepts which can be beneficial for a student for their future and can be applied in real world. One thing I would like to add that some improvements needs to be added in the course curriculum. Those can be the hecticness and the vastness. Exams are being conducted frequently which are 2 quizzes, midsem and then finally the last endsem. The faculty to student ratio is quite appreciable. All the teachers are here very well disciplined and very friendly with the students and their mentorship and guidance helps a student to understand the concepts very easily. We can interact with our faculty members at any time as they are very helpful and help us sort all the problems.

Absolutely satisfied because of the environment and good peers that the college provides.

Placements: Around seventy-five to eighty percent of the students got placed. The highest package was around 14 lacs per annum and the lowest package was around 7 lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies were Tata Steel, Volvo India, Flipkart, Maybach Consulting, Bain and Company, and Deloitte.

Infrastructure: My department (Production and Industrial Engineering) consists of a foundry shop, a carpentry shop, a welding shop, a fitting shop, a machine shop and a robotics lab. Campus Wi-Fi is available everywhere on campus. Every hostel room has its own Wi-Fi box, and the quality of the food is good. The health center is open 24*7.

Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful and they are very qualified and knowledgeable but their teaching quality is average. Yes, the course curriculum is well structured and it makes students industry-ready. Mid-semester examinations are not very difficult but end-semester exams are a bit difficult. In order to pass any subject, one needs to obtain a minimum of 40 marks out of 100.

Review of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.

Placements: BIT is known for its placements. Our average package is around 12 LPA. You can expect all kinds of MNCs coming. Various sectors like IT, consultancy, marketing, education tech, and many more. This year, the highest package is 60 LPA by Atlassian. TNP is very active and supportive.

Infrastructure: Hostel is better than many IITs and NITs. You will have a single room from the first year only and equipped with Wi-Fi. Proper hygiene will be there. The mess is also good. You will have the option of both veg and non-veg. For sports, there is a sports complex where you can play.

Faculty: Curriculum is as per industry standards. In fact, it is the first college in India to start aerospace engineering. Each semester will be of duration of 3.5 months. Exam structure is like 2 quizzes, one mid-sem, one end-sem. One disadvantage is there is absolute grading, so it is tough to score GPA here.

Other: You can find lots of fests and non-academic events going on throughout the year. Bitotsav is the annual fest.

Best in class infrastructure with excellent faculty members.

Placements: According to brochure of 2022-23 The placements for Production and Industrial Engineering were at 92%. According to the T&P cell the students were placed in tech as well as core companies according to their interests. The college also has a bunch of technical clubs which help the student to get placements by giving them hands on knowledge.

Infrastructure: The course as per AICTE norms and perfectly aligned towards a technical goal. The classrooms and labs are air conditioned. Hostels are decent with double occupancy for first year and single occupancy second year onwards. The mess food is good and decent.

Faculty: Faculty members are excellent. You will find the most qualified and experienced faculty members here who have received bulk of grants from the government to carry on research works which itself signifies their knowledge in their respective fields. The faculty members are friendly as well.

Other: The campus is huge and lush green at nearly 800 acres. You will find the most scenic beauty in the campus itself.

Review of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.

Placements: Around 94% of students were placed with an average salary package of around 6 LPA to 8 LPA, which is very good for freshers. Top companies like Google, Walmart, Goldman Sachs, ZS Associates, etc., came to our college. The highest salary package offered in our placement year was around 45 LPA and the lowest package was 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course were Deloitte, PwC, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few more. Around 40% of students got internships from our course in companies like Deloitte, ZS Associates, and Cognizant. The top roles offered in our course were software engineer and analyst roles.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure available for our course is very good. Many new machines for practical purposes are available here. Classrooms are also very well maintained, along with air conditioners in every classroom. Unlimited Wi-Fi and LAN facilities are available in the college building and in the hostels as well. The library is also quite good, with some good collections of books available, but you will not be allowed to enter the library in trousers. Hostels are also very good, with small playgrounds in front of every hostel. The quality of food in the mess is not quite stable. Sometimes it is very great and sometimes you will just leave after having a glance at the food available. There is a dispensary in the college that gives you free treatments for small troubles like colds and coughs, diarrhea, sprains, fever, and problems like these. There is also a sports complex with many facilities available, like a gym, a football ground, a cricket ground, a volleyball ground, badminton courts, running tracks, and basketball courts.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful at the college. Most of the teachers are highly knowledgeable and qualified. The teaching quality is also quite good. In the end, it is up to you how much time and concentration you dedicate to your studies because that will only help you to get good marks. The course curriculum is very relevant. It has some great practical courses and theory courses that will help students to be industry-ready. Semester exams are of medium to high difficulty, but the pass percentage was always above 90%. The difficulty level depends on your level of preparation for the semester exams.

Other: I wanted to choose either mechanical or production since I started preparing for competitive exams, and I am very satisfied that I got one of these courses in a good college. I was quite satisfied with all the facilities available on our course. Events at our college are quite something. You can have so much fun during the events and participate in various competitions. The connectivity of campus is normal. The college bus runs at various intervals, which will connect you to the main city. The surroundings of the campus are very peaceful. There are many extracurricular activities available at the college. There are numerous clubs in the college that organise various events on a regular basis. The scholarship provided is very great, but you have to work hard for it as it depends on the total marks and percentage you get in each semester.
