I truly loved the college vibe including studies and events both.
Placements: I am happy that I choose this college because overall I find it pretty good. About placements: about 85% of students get placed every year, not only in my interior designing course but in all fields. In our course, the students who are good in their studies surely get a chance to attend internships.
Infrastructure: Chandigarh University is known for its top-class infrastructure and facilities provided all around the campus. All the classes are fully air-conditioned and well-maintained. Hostels are also properly maintained with proper hygiene, separate canteens, etc.
Faculty: The faculty is very kind to help anytime, not only in college studies but also in other things. All the teachers are well-educated and well-trained. The semester exams are not too hard to crack but not too easy. The courses are really great, and they try to teach really useful concepts theoretically and practically too.
Other: I choose this course because its value will increase in the future according to my research. In the first year, the university not only teaches just related things about interior designing but also many other things which I find a bit boring to do, as I am just curious about knowing things related to interior designing.

Chandigarh University Design Department Reality. Think Again...
Placements: There are around 170-180 students in our batch. When it comes to placements, we could say... placements? What’s that? The placement rate is very low. Out of 180 students, a maximum of 10 students were placed, with the highest package being only 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, with drafting tables provided specifically for our department. The Wi-Fi is okay, and the library is small but accessible online through our college ID. In the hostel, the food is just enough to satisfy hunger. Occasionally, they cook something delicious, but most of the time, the food is just average. Initially, the food was quite good during orientation and induction, but afterward, it became average and sometimes very poor. Many hostel students end up buying food from outside.
Faculty: The faculty is very nice and knowledgeable in their subjects. However, sometimes the department management assigns a different subject to a faculty member who doesn’t specialize in that area. The faculty even say, "This is not my area of expertise; the department assigned me this subject. I can only teach you what I’ve learned during winter or summer breaks." So, the management department is poorly organized.
Other: The management of Chandigarh University is as frustrating as dealing with a government bank: "Come after lunch, the server is down, go to counter 2, no wait, counter 3." The university issues an ID to every student, which is essential for attendance and most tasks. One day, my ID stopped working. Without it, teachers couldn’t mark my attendance, and many university processes require it. I went from the HOD to the Registrar’s office, only to be redirected repeatedly—first to level 2, then the basement, from one counter to another. My problem wasn’t fixed until the next day when I went back to the HOD, who sent me to another teacher who finally resolved it.

B.Des industrial design course here is satisfactory.
Placements: The placements are good, and the top roles offered in the course are automobile designer, UI/UX designer, -product designer etc. Cognizant, Symbiosis, etc., are the recruiting companies. There are numerous internships available on-campus or off-campus, if one is interested.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Chandigarh University is amazing, and the food quality is good too. Wi-Fi, labs, libraries, and workshops are available to work in and with. Medical facilities are available 24*7, and the sports complex is also available for multiple sports and games.
Faculty: The course curriculum is highly elaborated and provides a vast experience of the industry. The faculty are extremely helpful, qualified and ready to help us anytime. The semester examinations are held in jury mode and are very helpful in coping with hardships in the industry.
Other: This course offers numerous opportunities in the designing field than the other courses. Chandigarh University organises many events, fests etc. Frequently, they call renowned personalities to the campus. The university offers scholarships based on the entrance exam, 12th merit etc.

I am an industrial design student at Chandigarh University. I have an average experience here.
Placements: This course just started in CU. From this course, there is only 1 pass out from the 2021 batch. People are not much familiar with this course, so students are very less in every batch. Few companies visit the college for placements. In this course, you have to find the internship by yourself. It does not help you in finding your internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good as we have classrooms with a good amount of switchboards to charge our laptops as we do most of the work on our laptops. It also has a Cintiq lab. Every classroom has connected with projectors for presentations. It also has connected speakers for a good mood and workable environment. It has workshops for our practical projects. The campus and hostel facilities are good. In the hostel, they provide a gym, canteens, and parlors. It also provides medical facilities. For girls, the hostel is very strict so they can keep their students very safe. The mess food is average, and sometimes they make some mess in food. Most of the time, the quality of the food served is good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful to their students as they treat their children as their friends. They are well qualified as they all have done masters in this field. The problem is that we have very few faculty members in our department, which is 5-6 teachers. We don't have any exams, but instead of this, we have our practical Jury in which we have to showcase all our subject projects. The Jury will question you from your projects. They will mark you according to your daily basis that how you do your work regularly in your class and how much attention you were in class and how you have given your Jury, and what creative project you have done for your Jury.

CU is a whole new experience.
Placements: I am currently a student, so I haven't been placed yet. Our college has a great placements record in engineering, management and every other stream. Students are placed at big multinational companies and getting exposure at the international level.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are quite good. It is a Wi-Fi enabled campus, and there are classrooms with projectors and other important accessories. There is a library in every academic block. The hostel also provides good food services with a different menu for each day. There is a sports room, Wi-Fi for each room and medical facilities at every hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are very supportive, and they guide us at various levels. They are experts in their particular field. Teaching quality is up to the mark. The course is also relevant with diverse knowledge of a particular stream to enhance the wisdom power. Practical knowledge is also provided. Exams are of moderate difficulty. If students pay attention in class, then it becomes quite easy for them to pass the exams. Passing criteria is grade-based.
Other: I have chosen this course because I have been passionate about design since my childhood. I wanted to get into a college that would help me in enhancing my skill set. The design has taught me a lot of things. A bit more practical approach is needed to improve the course quality. Events have been amazing. I am a part of the organising committee, and I have witnessed more than 200 events with various celebrities. The campus crowd is very interactive and friendly. Scholarship details are also being provided by the HODs, and faculty members guide students to get what they deserve. Extracurricular activities include dance and singing competitions, poetry, photography contest, etc.

It is the best university of Punjab.
Placements: The course has completed three years. The first batch will pass out in the year 2021. However, the university has recorded placements for engineering management and other courses. The average salary package offered was above 5 LPA. Moreover, the university has tie-ups with many design studios. The placement process will start in the coming academic session.
Infrastructure: The university has state of the art infrastructure. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The library has more than 1.2 lac course books, and 8.6 lacs general books and more than 30,000 journals. In the hostel, rooms are well furnished. Classrooms are fully loaded with audio-visual aids. There is a dedicated sports complex. Our college has won 6 gold & 8 silver international medals in rowing, boxing, powerlifting, taekwondo & roll ball. There are more than 10 hostels for students with good infrastructure with fulltime Wi-Fi. There are many food courts on the campus like Domino's, Subway and many more.
Faculty: There are 04 faculty members in our department, and each one has expertise in their respective domains. Two of them have field and industry experience of more than 10 years and hold a masters degree in their respective domain. One faculty member is PhD with more than 11 years of teaching experience. The fourth faculty member has a masters in design with one-year teaching experience. The department ensures quality teaching with the use of modern teaching methods, PPTs, audiovisuals, practicals, workshops, expert lectures, and industrial visits, etc., by the experienced faculty members. They also have international exposure. They have published research papers in many international journals and conferences. My favourite teacher has overall 11 international publications and four books with international publishers. We study with great fun and passion. The course is designed in such a way that all the core subjects are taught as practicals. The curriculum is based on the requirements of the design industry. The department organises regular industrial visits to factories and design studios. We are taught the fundamentals of design, basics of fine arts and some subjects are related to photography also. More emphasis is given on learning digital tools like digital sketching and rendering. 3D software, along with the surfacing software are also in our curriculum. We also have industrial training and projects.
Other: I chose this course to be a good designer. Only the thing to be improved now is that a 3-D printing studio should be established in the department though centralised facilities are available. Chandigarh University is a happening place. It is always busy with activities. Tons of events and activities are organised around the year. We have cultural, technical, sports, live concerts, etc. I like the cultural events organised from time to time.
