IPU MCA Eligibility & Highlights 2024
GGSIPU or IPU offers two-year MCA courses in a full-time mode. MCA course admission is offered based on NIMCET scores. However, if seats remain vacant after counselling based on the merit of NIMCET, IPU considers admission to MCA and MCA (Lateral Entry) programmes based on merit in IPU CET/CUET-PG. MCA is offered by GGSIPU via its 12 affiliated colleges. Moreover, the PG-level course is also offered in the second shift (evening) by a few IPU-affiliated colleges. Candidates seeking admission to MCA at IPU colleges must check the eligibility requirements. The applications of candidates who do not meet the criteria are treated as invalid. Yes, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to BSc, BCA, BCom (Hons), B.Ed, BA (JMC), BHMCT, BBA, BA (Hons), BVoc, BPT, BPO, BOT, BASLP, BSc MLT, MSc, MA, MEd, MPT, MOT and MPO courses. IPU CET exam 2026 application forms for other courses, open tentatively in March every year. Apart from conducting IPU CET, GGSIPU also accepts several national-level entrance exams to provide admission to a few undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses.
As per the IP University 2023 brochure, the duration of all the MCA courses is two-year. The course is further divided into semester pattern. There are four semesters during the course. The syllabus might also be defined semester-wise. Candidates have to pass all the semester exams in order to get a MCA degree from IPU.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's annual hostel cost is INR 29,500. Mess and welfare fees are not included in the hostel fees. The fee for the mess is INR 36,000, while the cost of the welfare is INR 3,000. Candidates need to submit three demand drafts: one for hostel fees, one for mess charges, and one for welfare charges. Two hostels are maintained on campus for male students, and two are maintained for female students. There are more than 180 single-seat rooms in each hostel. Basic furnishings such as a cot, mattress, pillow, chair, table, cupboard, tube lamp, and fan are provided in each room. Mess facilities are available for residents in each hostel. Residents also have access to a common area, a gym, a reading room, and sports facilities. For the hostels, there is a provision for 24-hour water and electrical services.
GGSIPU follow the UGC norms to initiate the fee refund. The University will initiate the refund once the online and offline counselling process is concluded for the academic year. After the conclusion of the counselling process, the amount after reduction will be initiated to the candidates as per the bank details provided by the students while filling the online application form.

Yes, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) admission 2026 are open. Students must apply online through the official website of the university. The registration process and counselling for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is ongoing.
Admission to most of the GGSIPU courses is done through entrance tests. However, direct admissions are available through the Management quota. Only some colleges under the GGSIPU accept direct admissions through Management quota.
There is also spot/sliding round admissions available for leftover seats after all CET counselling rounds are over. The colleges fill these seats via walk-in or direct applications.
GGSIPU IPU CET cutoff 2026 was released for the first round of admission to the BTech course and its various specialisations. The cutoff was announced for different AI and HS quota categories.
For the General AI category, the BTech CSE (AI) course round 1 cutoff ranged from 46521 to 158229. As per this range, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology was the hardest college for admission.
For the BTech. + MTech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering programme, the R1 cutoff ranged from 41125 to 162095. As per this range, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University was the hardest institute for admission for this course.

GGSIPU admission to the MCA course is offered based on merit in NIMCET/CUET-PG/IPU CET. Aspirants need to have a valid score in either of the accepted exams.You are advised to check the minimum qualification required. The step-by-step process is explained below:
1. GGSIPU MCA Application Process 2025
- The application procedure is carried out via online mode. Candidates are advised to check out the eligibility criteria for IP University MCA before registration. The step-wise IP University application process is below:
- Visit the official website of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (www.ipu.ac.in) and click on the 'Admission' tab and further click on 'Online Admission Form' from the drag-down menu.
- Read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and click on 'Start' to proceed with the registration step of the application process.
- Select MCA from the programme drop-down menu and register with the candidate's name, email ID and contact number. Further, click on 'Non-CET' courses because MCA comes under the 'Non-CET' category courses.
- Candidates will receive an application sequence number, user ID and password for future logins and a link to the application form to proceed with further steps.
- In the first stage of the application form, enter personal details, such as name, parents' name, age, nationality, etc. Also, enter the present address information along with the permanent address.

Candidates who meet the cutoff need to further participate in the counselling round. It takes place for document verification and seat allotment. In Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, better known as IPU or GGSIPU, there’s a 75 per cent reservation for Delhi students. Delhi students are those students who have completed their Class 12 from a school which is in Delhi. The remaining 25 per cent seats are for students from all over India. IPU MCA Curriculum
IP University MCA is a two-year programme, which is divided into four semesters. As a mandate by the statutory bodies, candidates undergo a three-week induction training at the beginning of the first semester. To get a degree, candidates need to earn a minimum of 104 credits.
