STEP 2: Selection of Candidates

Once counselling rounds begin, candidates will be asked to fill their choice of institute. After choice filling is over, candidates will allotted seats based on either IPU-CET or CUET-UG results. There will be three rounds of counselling where, selected candidates are given an allottment letter. This letter must be presented at the allotted campus.

STEP 3: Confirmation of Admission

After allottment letter has been verified, candidates will be asked to pay BCom admission fees for confirmation of GGSIPU admission. Admission fees at GGSIPU might be first installment of total course fees. Once this fees is paid, document verification process will begin.

Placements: At Vivekanda Institute of Professional Studies, Delhi 60-70 percent of students get placed mostly in the sales, marketing, or basic finance roles only. Basic package varies around 4 LPA-5 LPA and only a few high-paying opportunities but it's up to the students to grab and secure them on the basis of their skills.

Infrastructure: As for the infrastructure at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, I'd like to say that it is really good and decent and far better than the other colleges of IP universities. All basic and many advanced facilities are made available too.

Faculty: Faculty at VIPS is really supportive and a few teachers are just average too. Curriculum is followed of GGSIPU, mostly theory-based and with lesser practical exposure and as far as the exams go they are manageable if you stay consistent with internals and assignments.

Dissatisfied with the campus infrastructure, but good faculty.

Placements: Approximately 10–15 percent of students are placed during the internship in my course. I have seen internship offers from companies like Cogizen and Deloitte, etc. Around 10 percent of students get the internship, but everyone gets a chance. More students get internships from different courses but under the same criteria, i.e., commerce.

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure is pretty average because the location of the college is very tightly spaced, so the campus is not too big, and the big buildings make it hard to get much sunlight. The food quality in the canteen is good. But the sports and games facilities are below average because we don’t have a proper ground or many facilities in that regard.

Faculty: The teachers are quite skillful, very helpful, and always ask whether we need any help. They are knowledgeable and don’t keep the concepts complicated, which makes it easy for us to understand. The exams are not that difficult, especially the internal examinations, as the questions are usually basic if you know enough about a particular concept.

Other: I always wanted to do a course in commerce, so naturally B .Com (H) seemed like the obvious choice to me. What I’d like to improve about my course is more specialized topics in a particular industry. For example, if someone is interested in finance, they should be able to understand as much as possible, and there shouldn’t be many limitations. Currently, we only get to read a limited amount of information.

Good learning environment and opportunities despite the classroom infrastructure and canteen food.

Placements: 80%-90% of students from B.Com (Hons) batches reported getting placed through campus recruitment in recent years. The highest package is around 10 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, average is 6 LPA. Top recruiters are SnP Global, Wipro, Splitsub, Black Elephant Digital, and BNS Analytics. This sometimes includes TCS and Deloitte, too. 70% of the students secure internships during their course and mainly in the private sector.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in the hostel, but not around the campus buildings. Labs are quite decent, and sometimes computers don't work. Classrooms are of basic infrastructure and are non-AC and have school desks for students. But in the new building, which is a law block, they are good in infrastructure and have AC classrooms and corridors. The library is also very good and spacious have good stock of books, and has computers there too. Hostel facilities are good, they have boys' and girls hostel separate, with average hygiene, and the mess food is also good.

Faculty: The faculty of B.Com is so great. They are very knowledgeable and very helpful towards the students, and are always available for us. They teach and guide us so well. The curriculum is relevant for us and up to date. They make us ready for the industry, but advise us to get internships and gain experience. Semester exams are easy, they have 6 questions in the exam, each worth 10 marks. The passing percentage is 40%.

Other: I chose B.Com (Hons) because I have a strong interest in commerce, finance, accounting, and business studies. One of the best things is that they are career-oriented and give opportunities. I think they can be more up-to-date in the subjects, according to me. Society events are really great. The fest and campus crowd make people come here. Metro connectivity is the best thing about this college.

Placements: Mainly Delhi side students are there in my course who are experts in finance. The highest package is 8 LPA, average package is 4.5 LPA, and the lowest is 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies that come for placements for this course are TCS, Accenture, and IBM. Almost 50% of students get jobs in this course, mainly in the marketing field at the company TCS. All types of jobs are offered like marketing, HR, sales, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities are very good. The outside infrastructure of building is very good. The IPU building is also very good from the inside. All the things have good Wi-Fi connectivity. Labs, library, and all are very well Wi-Fi connected. The food quality is not good. The hostel infrastructure from inside is not at all good.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They do conduct different competitions and hackathons for all departments. The teaching method is good. The course curriculum is okay but the management of the college lacks many subjects and options that are provided by the university. Exams are made for all types of students according to the method and type of teaching.

Other: I want to go to the stock market in future for my career, and I found this course very relevant. This college is affiliated with Indraprastha University so I got this course.

I am satisfied with my college.

Placements: I don’t know much about placements, but according to Google, there are fewer placements. Big companies do not visit, and the package may be around 4 LPA. A B.Com degree alone is not enough for placements. One should have skills, participation, and exposure through networking.

Infrastructure: Undoubtedly, my college has good infrastructure. Compared to other colleges, my college has good lighting, clean washrooms, a library, and computer labs. The stairs are well-maintained. A lift is also available that works efficiently. There are front and back stairs as well.

Faculty: The curriculum is great. Faculty members are nice and helpful. Exams are conducted with proper rules and regulations. Faculty members are well-educated and approachable. Highly qualified teachers provide a strong foundation in the fundamentals.
