At the PG level, the University also offers a two-year MTech programme across five specialisations at its campus.

Selection criteria:

Maximum 50% seats will be allotted directly to GATE qualified candidates
Remaining seats will be filled via the entrance test conducted by Gauhati University

Best college for pursuing engineering with nominal charges.

Placements: Almost 70% of my batchmates were selected in companies with decent annual packages, and most of them are happy with the packages they secured. The highest package was 6.4 lakhs per annum and the lowest package was 2 lakhs per annum. Whereas the average package was 3.2 lakhs per annum.

Infrastructure: The college is very well built with all the amenities, like a playground, library and auditorium with proper ventilation and lighting. The classes are equipped with modern technology like projector screens and speakers. The college canteen serves a variety of snacks and the hostel is also very good and comfortable.

Faculty: The teaching staff was really good. They were supportive and experienced; they built proper interaction with students. They are very well aware of modern ways of teaching and use various methods to ensure that each and every student is getting the information that they want them to learn. There efforts led to the selection of a number of students for internships in various industries.

Other: The campus culture is good, with students from various states sharing common ground for development.

Overall a nice place to stay for four years.

Placements: Placements were good just that the students had to keep up a good average academically. At least 45-50% students were placed. The highest salaries that were offered were from the PSU's and the lowest were from the IT companies. Average salary was around 5L per annum.

Infrastructure: All the hostels and academic buildings had Wi-Fi. Labs, classrooms, library were obviously in good condition with no infrastructure related issues. Food quality was also good in the hostel mess as well as the canteens. Sports and games were also pretty vibrant with emphasis on football, cricket, basketball, volleyball and indoor games such as table tennis was also played.

Faculty: The teachers or precisely the faculty members were pretty good equipped with strong knowledge of the background they studied and also the subjects that they were teaching. Teaching quality was also overall good. Student to faculty ratio was on an average 14:1 Industrial exposure was also given during the course.

I like this college, and I wish the college should develop the infrastructure more.

Placements: For ME course, there are no placements. Generally, students join ME course here to learn about field works and for extensive knowledge of the discipline. I wish our college should develop the infrastructure more to attract more companies.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite good. Our college provides good labs, conference room, huge canteen, market, etc. Our college also provides good computers. Playground facilities are quite good. Near the campus there are restaurants. The greenery of the campus is very good.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly knowledgeable, good, kind and helpful. They actively organise seminars, etc., to boost the learning of students. The quality of education provided by them is very good. Teachers themselves attend a lot of seminars to keep them well aware of the developments taking place.

Other: Our college comes under the Government of Assam, so the fee charged by the college is very less. I am very much interested in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering, so I have chosen this course. I wish to gain as much knowledge I can. The campus is lush green and calm.

I am satisfied with the course. University campus and hostel life are the best.

Placements: Placements in our college are not much. Our course mostly priorities for future studies in the research field. The course emphasises more on the research sectors, and most of our alumni are now in top-ranking PhD programs in IITs. Our course is quite new. Hence many companies did no visit here for recruiting students.

Infrastructure: Our hostels are hygienic, and indoors and bathrooms are cleaned every day. Food quality is also good, and they serve a wide variety of vegetables to us. Wi-Fi facility is also very good with high-speed connectivity, and routers are available on every floor. We also have coolers which are very useful during summers.

Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified. The course makes us industry-ready in our core sector. Some good equipment and machines are set up in our laboratories for students to gain good practical knowledge. Teachers give us hands-on experience on the subject matter.
