The college has its own incubation cell and the famous T-Hub which promotes students ideas.
Placements: Around 95% of the total college students were placed, with a median package of 21 lakh per annum and the lowest package of around 4 lakh. Since the course is a research based course, the duration depends on how fast the thesis is submitted and approved. From the passing out batch of my course, around 75% of them have sat for placements and have a 100% acceptance rate, while the remaining 25% have pursued higher studies (PhD). The college does not recommend research students to do internships since it might affect their quality of research. The jobs offered are similar to those of regular 4-year B.Tech course.
Infrastructure: The hostels have twin sharing rooms (till 3rd year), with common bathrooms, common laundry and monthly room cleaning services. There are 4 messes, north, south, non-veg and Jain mess to suit everybody. There are medical facilities available within the campus with an on-campus nurse and counsellor. Wi-Fi is available only in specific places in the campus and LAN is available in the hostel only after the first year of college. There is a library with all the required course textbooks, which can be borrowed. There is a lab (Exact Humanities Lab) dedicated to the course, which can be used for research purposes.
Faculty: All the professors of this course and other courses have many years of teaching experience along with PhDs from reputed colleges abroad. They guide and mentor students during the time of thesis writing and submission. The course curriculum is vast, ranging from Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, OS, Networking in Computer Science, to History, Sociology, Philosophy in Human Sciences. The course is helpful in collaborating these two fields of knowledge, which allows the students a wide range of choice to choose from, for their career path.
Other: The campus has a population of around 1800 members including, B.Tech, MS PhD. Dual Degree and faculty. There are many activities to keep you engaged in your free time like college clubs, annual fest, hackathons. The academic load of the college is pretty stressful yet enjoyable if one is very much interested and invested in the course. This course allows for a different perspective of computer Science technologies and the various ways it can be put to use. The college has its own incubation cell and the famous T-Hub which promotes students ideas by funding them as well.

Overall the academics of the college is excellent if one is interested in studying.
Placements: The course B.Tech in CS with MS in human sciences by research started with my batch only. So we don't have any concrete data about placements but a somewhat similar course to ours EHD had 100% placements in the past years, with some of the seniors with excellent jobs.
Infrastructure: LAN is available to all the students except first years, medical facilities are not good, there is no ambulance for emergencies, food is above average as we have four messes with option to eat in any. The sports facilities are average, we have one decent football field and one below decent cricket field.
Faculty: The courses are pretty good and you get choices in your senior years too. The teachers are really helpful and agree to give personal advice. They provide a teaching assistant to help a student if a student faces any issues. Most of the courses are relevant to the jobs the seniors have gotten in past.

It has an amazing hostel and food, excellent placements every year and really good infrastructure.
Placements: Our course CHD is a new one which has started in the previous year only. However, it derives somewhat from the EHD course which was available in IIITH and was stopped 5 years ago. I feel pleasure to study on the campus in the last batch of EHD, and the previous batch just passed out this year. So, placements are still pending. Most of them have been offered PPOs, but the placements have been good for the batches previous to that batch.
Infrastructure: Our college has excellent infrastructure, and the entire building called Nilgiri is allotted for labs. Moreover, another building called KCIS is dedicated to research. Along with that, there are two more buildings for teaching, tutorials, etc. The food served is amazing, and there are 4 messes. Every mess serves a different cuisine. Hostels are clean, and there are services for cleaning, security, etc. Canteens here are famous, and they surely serve good food. As far as sports and games are considered, there is a very lively basketball court, a football field, a gym, an indoor room for pool and ping pong.
Faculty: Teachers here are extremely qualified in their field and are helpful. But they give a lot of work in IIITH. However, their teaching quality is amazing. All things in the course curriculum are extremely relevant, and unlike most of the engineering colleges, we are quite dedicated to CS subjects. We don't have compulsory physics and chemistry courses.

Q:   Are there any scholarships offered to the students of BTech at IIIT Hyderabad?
A: 

To sort out the fee issues and unburden the students, the institute provides financial assistance at the campus in place of scholarships. Details around this financial assistance are as follows:

  1. State Bank of India (IIIT branch) guarantees an SBI Scholar student loan to a student who secures admission at IIITH of up to 20 Lacs (without the need for any security). This can be availed even if the applicant’s family has other existing loans.
  2. The alumni of IIIT Hyderabad have set up a fund to support successfully admitted students based on need. The assistance is provided on a pay-it-forward* basis. In a Pay-it-forward scheme, students agree to pay the tuition fees of another student, after they successfully and start earning. The fund provides the below support
  • Financial support to students whose family income is below 8 LPA from the second semester, subject to availability and meeting the pre-defined criteria
  • Students above the income threshold can also apply and may be granted tuition support if their case is found worthy by the committee
