JMI admission to many courses are entrance based, and some of these courses do accept CUET to shortlist candidates. The courses at Jamia Millia Islamia that candidates can apply to on the basis of CUET scores are BA, BSc, etc. Candidates can also participate in the JMI admission process through their CUET-PG scores for Masters programmes.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For General category under All India, opening rank was 7216 and closing rank was 7216. Admission to the B.Tech in Computer Engineering in Jamia Millia Islamia [JMI] is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE. Jamia Millia Islamia offers BA (Hons) programme across 17 specialisations along with a BA programme. For all the remaining specialisations (other than the aforementioned ones, the university will conduct its own entrance exam, namely JMI Entrance Exam for final admission. Entrance exam: The candidate must have appeared for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture NATA or the Joint Entrance Examination JEE Main Paper-2 conducted by the National Testing Agency NTA to be eligible for admission. The application fee also needs to be paid. Merit list: Based on the NATA or JEE Main Paper-2 score and other eligibility criteria, the college or university releases a merit list of selected candidates. Counseling: Selected candidates are called for counseling or interview rounds to further evaluate their eligibility for admission. Admission: The candidate must pay the admission fee and complete the admission process, which may include document verification, seat confirmation, and submission of required documents. Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA must have passed Class 12 or SSC with a minimum aggregate ranging from 40-50%. The passing percentage is different for different specialisations offered in the BA programme. Admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA and BA (Hons) is subject to either CUET (conducted by NTA) or JMI entrance exam. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations.
