KMAT Kerala exam pattern 2026 has been prescribed by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams. It is speed based exam having 180 MCQs. The exam duration is 180 minutes and candidates have to attempt questions from English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge.

Yes, KMAT Kerala exam has negative marking. Candidates will be awarded four marks for each correct answer. One mark will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer marked by the candidate.

Q:   What are the passing marks for KMAT Kerala?
A: 

If you're a General/SEBC candidate, you need at least 72 marks out of 720 (10%) in KMAT Kerala to pass. But if you're from SC/ST/PWD category, you should get 54 marks (7.5%) to qualify. Only the aspirants who score above this criteria will be eligible for admission to the KMAT Kerala partiipating colleges. Candidates who are aspiring admission to top MBA colleges in Kerala must ensure that they meet the qualifying cutoff criteria in order to secure a seat and be eligible for the admission process. The admission completely depends on the total number of seats available in the college.

KMAT Kerala 2026 Total Marks and Marking Scheme

Take a look at the marking scheme for KMAT Kerala 2026 below:

  • For each question, 4 marks are allotted in case of correct attempts

  • In case of wrong attempts, 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response marked

  • No marks are awarded or deducted for questions not attempted

Solving all the questions is not mandatory, but it is advised to solve about 2/3rd of the total questions in each section to get a decent score. Candidates must however keep in mind negative marking and must not attempt any question they are not sure of solving correctly.
