ATMA score is determined on the basis of correct answers marked by students in the ATMA exam. For each correct answer, they are awarded one mark. For an incorrect answer, 0.25 marks are deducted from the total score.

This means that for four incorrect answers, one mark is deducted from the total score. The raw score of students is scaled with reference to the total number of students appearing in the exam.

The ATMA percentile is percentage of students among those who have appeared for the exam and scored below the students in that category. That is, if a student has scored 53 per cent, this means that 53 per cent of students who have appeared in ATMA exam scored below him or her. 

ATMA has a total of 180 questions. Each section carries 30 marks. For each correct attempt, one mark is awarded and 0.25 marks are deducted for incorrect attempt. There is no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Therefore, the total marks of ATMA is 180. Each section in the ATMA question paper carries equal number of questions and marks. Sectional marking scheme for ATMA is given below: 1. Verbal Ability: 30 2. Analytical Reasoning: 30 3. Quantitative Ability: 30 Since ATMA has negative marking scheme, candidates must choose the questions to solve very carefully and smartly. ATMA exam has 180 questions and total marks are 180. But, raw scores are scaled and the final marks are awarded out of 800. Knowing what is a good score in ATMA exam is subjective, but, the current trends suggest that the following can be a good score: 

Very good score: More than 700 

Good score: 650 to 700 

Average score: 620 to 650 

Low score: Below 550

The ATMA answer key released by the examination authority contains each question and its status which means, the answer marked by the student and right answer. The answer key will also have the question which were not attempted. The following information will be mentioned on the ATMA answer key:

Those who appear for the ATMA exam, must check their answer sheet once it is released. It will help in analysing performance in the exam. They can use this information to know their tentative score and make an estimation of their chances of admission into the desired college.

The provisional answer key is the one released just after the exam and the final answer key is the one released after all the objections raised by candidates have been examined and accepted/rejected. The final ATMA answer key is released along with the result. It is the final ATMA answer key on the basis of which the ATMA result will be prepared. Which means, score of a student is based on the calculation of number of correct, incorrect and unanswered questions after all the objections have been examined. The provisional ATMA answer key is released with candidate's response sheet and there is an option to raise objections and challenge it. However, the final answer key is released only as question ID and correct answer option and there is no provision of raising objections after the final answer key has been released.

Through the answer key, the students can analyse their performance in the ATMA exam. The ATMA answer key contains their response as well as the correct answer to every question. This way, they can calculate how many marks they will score out of total marks. They can use that to see how much percentile they may score before the results are declared. 

For every correct answer in ATMA 1 mark is given. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks are deducted.

After the ATMA result declaration, top colleges which accept the ATMA scores start the shortlisting process. The ATMA scores are accepted in over 750 MBA/PGDM and MCA colleges. After the results, the institutes release ATMA cutoffs category-wise and invite applicants to appear for Written Ability Test, Group Discussion GD and Personal Interview rounds for admissions. Candidates can choose up to five institutes while filling ATMA application form where they need to send their ATMA scores and take part in the ATMA counselling process. The ATMA admission process after the result declaration includes: 1. Applications to be sent out to the institutes where you want to take admission. 2. Participating in the counselling process which includes Written Ability Test (What), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). 3. Submitting the required documents to the institutes where you have been shortlisted. 4. Paying the course fee and getting an admission confirmation.
