LPU MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
Under Engineering, LPU offers a full-time MTech programme in 17 specialisations at the PG level. The duration of MTech programme is two years, spread across four semesters. Candidates seeking admission to this programme must have a relevant BE/ BTech degree or equivalent. Also, the final selection of students is based on a valid score in LPU NEST/ GATE scores. LPU grants admission to all the MTech specialisations based on LPU NEST/ GATE scores. However, candidates also need to qualify the minimum eligibility criteria before applying. The specialisation-specific eligibility criteria along with the downloadable curriculum PDFs are tabulated below:

LPU does not offer direct admission. However, admission to few courses is merit-based. Aspirants scoring a 65% aggregate have a good chance of getting admission in LPU. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the university to apply online. To apply for LPU, aspirants need to register for LPUNEST for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. LPU admission to most of the courses is based on LPUNEST score. No, admission to the LPU with 45% in Class 12th is not possible. The mode of Lovely Professional University course admissions 2026 is online. The accepted entrance tests are LPU NEST, MAT, XAT, CAT, etc. Lovely Professional University conducts the Scholarship test & National Entrance test known as LPUNEST for admission to various available courses.
LPU NEST application form fee for a soft copy of the LPU NEST 2026 Kit is INR 1000 for boys and girls. The printed copy of the LPU NEST Kit is available for INR 1500 for boys and girls. The application fee can be paid online if the application form is filled out online. The application fee can be given as a demand draft if the application form is submitted offline. LPU MTech Admission 2026: How to Apply?
LPU MTech admission to all the above-mentioned specialisations is done through an online mode. Candidates, fulfilling the eligibility criteria need to apply online through the admission portal of the University. The common LPU application process is shown below:

Step 1: Signup
- Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email-id, mobile number, state, gender and password). The email id used during registration will act as the username for the portal and the password needs to be set by the candidate while registration.
- Login to the LPUADMIT with an already created username/ password
Step 2: Application for admission
Candidates can continue to take admission and then apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purposes):
- Fill in the application form
- Select the programme from the available course list
- Make an initial payment of INR 10,000 (which consists of an application fee of INR 500, rest is part of the programme fee for the first semester). After making the payment, the University will dispatch the prospectus at the correspondence address (entered in the application form) and a unique provisional registration no. will be generated and sent to the registered email-id.
- Upload the required documents. All the submitted documents are verified from the originals within the prescribed timelines during admission.
- Deposit the balance fee within the timelines as prescribed by LPU
Step 3: Apply for LPUNEST
Lovely Professional University conducts an online eligibility/scholarship test, LPU NEST basis which students can avail a number of scholarships.
- Deposit the test fee: The cost for the application form and soft copy of the LPU NEST Kit is INR 800 (for boys) and INR 500 (for girls) and fill the application form of LPUNEST.
Step 4: Book the exam slot and appear for it
- Candidates are now required to book a slot (with their preference of date and time) to appear for LPUNEST
- Appear and qualify the test
List of documents to be uploaded with the application form:
- Recent photograph
- Mark sheet and passing certificates of Class 10, Class 12 and graduation
- Qualifying exam certificate/ mark sheet
- Address proof
Also, students are advised to carry the following documents (both the original and the copy) at the time of reporting to the University campus:
- Certificate and mark sheet of Class 10 and Class 12
- Character/ school leaving/ transfer document
- Entrance test rank/ score card (if applicable)
- Three passport-size photographs of the student
- Proof of residence
- Aadhaar Card of the students and their parents
