A minimum of 60% aggregate in 12th, along with an attempt for MHTCET or JEE Mains for Graduate programs, is required to get into MIT Pune.  Students can also get practical experience and exposure to the industry through internships offered by the university. For students pursuing a B.Tech in Marine Engineering or a B.Sc. in Nautical Science, the internships are required. They last six months or a year, respectively.

The total tuition fee for BTech is INR 13 lakh. The fee, includes tuition fee, development fee, university fee, medical insurance, uniform, convocation, alumni charges and holistic development fee. Candidates are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Aspirants will also need to pay a registration fee to apply for admission. The application fee for each course is INR 1,500.
