NIT Durgapur offers a four-year full-time BTech course at the undergraduate level. BTech is spread across eight semesters. For last year, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering was 36281 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in NIT Durgapur - National Institute of Technology.

NIT Durgapur offers admission to M.Tech on the basis of CCMT scores. The cutoff ranks for the General AI category candidates varied between 350 and 562. Therefore, for the candidates belonging to the General AI category, it is very difficult to get admission to the college for MTech.
For candidates belonging to the OBC AI category, the cutoff ranks varied between 309 and 533. Thus, for OBC AI category candidates, getting admission to the college with 300 ranks is difficult.
For other categories, such as SC, ST and PWD category candidates, admission at 300 is easier due to a lenient cutoff than for other categories.
To be eligible for NIT Durgapur MBA admission, students need to be graduated in any stream or in the final year of graduation with at least 60% aggregate. Apart from fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria, NIT Durgapur will also consider the scores of national-level entrance exams such as, CAT/ XAT/ CMAT to admit students to the MBA course.

NIT Durgapur offers BSc + MSc (integrated) programme. The institute provides admission to applicants who clear the required JEE Main cut-off. Hence, the admission process begins with the JEE Main application process. For NIT Durgapur Integrated MSc admissions 2026, the JEE (Main) will be conducted in two sessions. The registration process for the first session of the exam (to be held in January) will take place in October (tentative). The registration process for the second session of the exam (to be held in April) will take place between January (tentative). Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, 2023 closing rank was 24386. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state.
