It is a good college. It is ranked 2nd in the top NITs.

Placements: We get to know about vehicle mechanics and dynamics, so most of our seniors are recruited in Tata, Mahindra, etc. Future study programmes are connected with this branch, which will provide extra knowledge and scholarship for higher studies.

Infrastructure: The hostel facility is the best. It has M. Visvesvaraya hostel. For the first-year students, the hostel facility is separate. In the final year, we get a single room each for our studies. The food served is one of the best in Rourkela, and it is of restaurant ...

Review of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.

Placements: I am studying B.Tech in electronics and instrumentation engineering in NIT Rourkela. Around 70%-85% of students were placed according to our seniors. The highest salary package offered in our branch was 21 LPA, and the average salary package offered was around 6.3 LPA-7 LPA. Coco-Cola and Pepsico are some major companies which recruit EIE students.

Infrastructure: We joined here in 2020 December. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were unable to visit the campus. However, according to our seniors, facilities and i...

It is a very good college. It has the best faculty members, placements and infrastructure.

Placements: I have been watching our seniors placements and internships. The training and placement cell is very good. I am hoping for a good placement for me. The internships are started early for our batch, and there is a very good success rate so far. Very good companies visit the campus for placements.

Infrastructure: Our college provides a good hostel facility. A variety of dishes are available for different students from north and south India. They maintain good neatness in hostel rooms. They clean the rooms every 2 d...

It has excellent infrastructure and good placements.

Yes, you can easily get admission in this college with this score. But, you should try for the other good colleges of IIITs, GFTIs and other good private colleges as your score is quite good, as there are colleges that better than NIT Rourkela.

It's just a straightforward mathematical computation here. 1 percentile indicates that 1 percent of the students scored higher than you. A percentile of 99 indicates that, out of the 10 lakh students who took the JEE Mains exam, about 10000 students scored higher than you. If we add up all the seats in all the NITs for this branch, there aren't as many left.

This is just a simple mathematical calculation. 1 percentile means 1% of the students have scored above you. If if 10 lakh students have appeared for JEE Mains examination then getting a percentile of 99 means that one percent of 10 lakh that is about 10000 students are above you. Now there are not so many seats if we put all the seats together in all the NITs for this branch. However this is simple logic but in practice it doesn't work this way and hence some students with even low percentile but of course having scored above the cutoffs declared by NTA can get admission because of the peculiarities of the system. The percentile drops below 99 it will become that much tuffer to get admission in computer sciences branch.
Wishes to you.

Also with a category rank of around 8000, it will be hard for you to get a seat in any NITs IIITs and GFTIs for core branches such as CSE, ECE, etc. For that much rank you have to secure atleast 99+ and 97+ percentile score ( change depending upon exact conditions).. .
